Evil and Truth

Evil enslaves,
Indebts,
and relies upon ignorance to bind us alone in the dark.

Truth is a fire that burns away the ropes that hold us down,
Illuminates knowledge,
Shows the path,
Defends,
Beacons to others that they are not alone,
and is fueled by diligence, courage and the freedom of ideas.

The $3.8 Trillion Federal budget, WASHINGTON STEP OFF!

I have spent entirely too much time reviewing the new budget. I read the documentation, analyzed the graphs, watched the debates, and listed to President Obama try to sell the budget at the fake "townhalls" where only supporters attended. It is entirely a disgusting situation of lies, deceit, misinformation, mischaracterization, and misunderstanding of American ideals.

To quote our President, "Let me be clear..." we Americans understand that the alleged $100 billion savings that health care reform supposedly creates is at best fictional and at worst the cost of lowering quality of care by allowing government bureaucrats to decide which care is "comparatively effective." In other words, that is $100 billion in savings from refusing preventive and reducing quality of care. In the context of $3.8 Trillion, that is no real savings, and it is spread over 10 years and based on increased tax revenues for several years before the plan starts. It is a scam to provide unions with Cadillac health care, while taxing everyone else.

The President's budget increases taxes on small business, and the middle class through backdoor "tricks." Meanwhile, asking someone else to make the hard decisions on the huge national debt by asking for a committee to review the situation.

Reuters reported then retracted the following:

"Middle-class families also will find fewer tax breaks available to them in 2010 if other popular tax provisions are allowed to expire. Among them:

*Taxpayers who itemize will lose the option to deduct state sales-tax payments instead of state and local income taxes;

*The $250 teacher tax credit for classroom supplies;

*The tax deduction for up to $4,000 of college tuition and expenses;

*Individuals who don't itemize will no longer be able to increase their standard deduction by up to $1,000 for property taxes paid;

* The first $2,400 of unemployment benefits are taxable, in 2009 that amount was tax-free."

Claims that the above report is false because there is a promise to continue these Bush era tax breaks for the middle class are LIES because the $250,000 FAMILY income is often pass through income from small business. This injects more disincentives for entrepreneurs to create jobs and for the economy to grow.

Additionally, the capital gains rate will be increased to 20%. This means investors are going to be soaked along with savers and the entire supply side of the economy. This is more "Doo Doo Economics" and exactly the wrong thing to do in a recession, but another example of tax and spend demand-side non-economic thought.

Finally, there is the blame Bush mentality of going from budget surplus to budget deficits. The Bush administration made all the tough choices that led us out of the economic crisis, which Obama of course takes credit for. Meanwhile, Obama blames Bush for the cost of these policies. Maybe, these people need to remember that the job losses and huge deficits really started after congress was taken over by the Democrats in 2006-2007 (see chart)

To summarize the problem, American families make these hard choices everyday, and the government's inability to make these choices reflects the fundamental reason that government cannot be allowed to grow and take on additional responsibilities. These decisions are best left up to the people.

Economically, twenty five to thirty-three cents of every dollar in U.S. economic growth reduces the national debt even according to Timothy Geithner. This is why Reagan era supply-side policies allowed the country to grow out to a projected budget surplus. All the American people need is for Washington to STOP SPENDING!

Wishy-washy Washington, particularly our weak willed President Obama, needs to "STEP OFF!"

Letter to the Editors of Scientific American

I have to question the responsibility of publishing more Michael F. Mann quotes. I am sure that many, including David Biello, believe that humankind is to fault with the world's problems, but a much larger issue has been exposed by "Climategate." First, that data which does not support AGW was misrepresented, destroyed, and withheld from the debate. More importantly, that the scientific process itself was not used to make the AGW argument because there was no open debate allowed.

We can debate the importance of swapping out data at the end of series and calling it a "trick." However, millions of lives will be lost every year if we proceed with AGW policies as money is spent that could save lives and improve the human condition.

Suppose AGW is wrong at this point. If this money is misallocated due to valid, debated scientific theory which turns out to be wrong, then I do not think blame can be laid. If money is misallocated at the cost of 1 human life for political or financial gain, then Mann, Hanson, the IPCC and others involved should be tried for murder. If the estimates of 4.1 million lives are lost per year due to the expenditure of money on AGW that would otherwise be spent for humanitarian causes, we are talking about a murder on a scale that rivals the worse collectivists of the last century.

I am an avid science enthusiast, but the disturbing collectivist and even communist support for AGW policies, coupled with the apparent fraud of "Climategate" gives me, and should give EVERYONE pause. This may be the same battle to tear freedom from humanity and devalue human life that America fought in 1941 and throughout the Cold War.

If you believe in humanity, we will solve these problems through innovation. If you do NOT believe in your fellow man, then population control and other, horrific but logical rationales will be used as government tries to solve these problems. So, please use this magazine to foster debate and not to evangelize for one side.

Providence?

Sen. Kennedy left us and left a decision to people who know about government run health care in America. Massachusetts voted tonight between government control and freedom guided by their own specific experience at the 11th hour in the debate. The staggering coincidence of timing, importance, and message of this vote begs the question of providence.
Despite all the corrupt tactics, misinformation, strong arming, bribing, and political positioning, free people were given the choice between what I consider good and selfish evil in the world. Americans choose good.

This choice became possible by the passing of one man, made possible by the establishment of a free nation, decided upon by free men and is a message for all mankind. America is STILL the hope, the idea and the difficult path to freedom!

Reid's "racism"?

I believe Harry Reid was making a political analysis.  It was a valid analysis from the progressive "plantation owner" frame of mind, that groups people into class, race, age, sex, and other segments.  If I, as a conservative, strip away the belief in individuals and wear the hat of a progressive collectivist, it is a clear idea.  When all you can see and hear is someones group identity, then of course you will think that everyone else sees the same thing.

I am sure that the way Harry Reid views people in "levels of color" is a typical progressive ideology.  That has always been the way they view the people below themselves.

Recognizing Evil

Last night Media and I watched a movie about an Iranian girl that pointed out the complacency in the minds of people who are ruled by oppression. There is very little difference between tyrants of the various political persuasions. Oppression comes from a threat; a threat of physical force, a threat of being dishonored, a threat of social exile, a threat of fines, a threat of imprisonment, a threat to your livelihood.

This is what ACORN and the progressives do; they have done it in several Central American countries in the previous couple decades. It is a formula of political insurgency designed to demoralize and confuse a people into accepting the chains of oppression. We call it political correctness.

If you have any doubt that these are the tactics being used, here is Glenn Beck's latest report on how the Health Care debate was designed as a dishonest debate in 2006 by a felon while in prison for bank fraud.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-16VC3u64-0

The ends justify the means to these people. Does it really matter if it is a God that they feel is on their side, or some other ideology? If a person is not striving to be on the side of what is right (or God), and is justified in all action to accomplish an end... that is called evil.

The Inconvenient Oath and the founder's vision of the Constitutional Republic

The Constitution is not about the will of the majority, it is about the judgment of the majority.

The founder's vision and the underpinning of our entire political order is not in leaders or in the common people but in their interaction under the Constitution's design for ordered liberty.

By disregarding the opinions of Americans and passing the health care bill, the government has undermined the very legitimacy of our Republican Constitution. With regard to health care, signing statements would allow President Obama to re-write the legislation as opposed to signing or veto. This poses a fundamental threat to our Constitutional Republic, as the majority of citizens' judgment and the basic interactive form of government is infringe upon. If President Obama uses signing statements to re-write the health care bill before enacting into law, our very form of government will be imperilled.

The President is supposed to represent Americans everywhere not sell policy by undermining the realistic transactions of information (truth). Pushing people to hear only what they want to hear and not hearing what they need to hear makes citizens lose touch with reality. This loss of reality leads to mistakes in judgment with regard to domestic and external threats. This will lead to national failure as history has shown.

We must begin to consider how to reform our Constitutional Republic and raze the power of government by removing power not specified in the Constitution. "Preserve, Protect and Defend the Constitution" has become An Inconvenient Oath.
