Doo Doo Economics are the policies of overspending, printing money, neglecting the key economics issues, bad science and promoting entitlement programs which all add up to higher taxes during a recession and economic unsustainablility.
Los Angeles radio station KFI 640 AM opened its airwaves to the OccupyLA marketing team. Occupy (LA) KFI got 2 hours of prime radio time on Saturday, October 19th, 2011 from 2 pm to 4 pm.
They used the marketing rule of three to appeal for support using focus group tested code words. By using three distinct voices echoing the Soros funded talking points, they exploited the fact that people judge anything heard from three sources as reliable. The marketing team was well prepared to switch voices and reiterate each talking point before moving down their list. It was a 2 hour marketing communications 101 class conducted by three teaching assistants.
Sozialistische Deutsche Studentenbund (SDS) (Socialist German Student Union)
Leftist code language to co-opt our partially educated youth included: fairness, justice and equality. The "99% taking power back from the 1%" rhetoric was the sales close. A typical appeal for support followed as the call to action. I got the feeling that all three of these speakers are members of the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS).
There are a lot of ways to motivate the people around you. You can push and pull, carrot and stick, pay or whip, pester or praise, scream at or celebrate your fellow workers. Many workers need motivation, organization, management and refocusing, but there is a line that should not be crossed. That line is summarized by remembering that "nobody ever got rich by working for an asshole."
Our economy is based upon mutually beneficial relationships. Relationships based upon strengths, weaknesses, knowledge, ability and comparative advantage. Relationships that are not mutually beneficial are not maintainable and people who exploit this fact are assholes.
Pushing people to the limits and beyond can be mutually beneficial. This may open new horizons for those involved, but setting goals at unachievable levels without consensus burns people out. It damages their lives in innumerable ways and reduces their overall productivity. In short, it is not mutually beneficial. This behavior is the reason that many workers formed trade unions to oppose exploitation in centuries past.
We often hear about Microsoft Millionaires and Bill Gates is no choirboy. However, with the revelations that Steve Jobs was an exploitative asshole, it comes to mind that there is no such thing as an Apple Millionaire. There are people who made money on the stock, but I have not found one story of an Apple employee becoming vastly wealthy beyond Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak and the forementioned article may explain why:
He cheated his friends out of money. He cut old colleagues out of stock options. He fired people with peremptoriness. He bullied waiters, insulted business contacts and humiliated interviewees for jobs. He lied his pants off whenever it suited him – "reality distortion field" is Isaacson's preferred phrase. Like many bullies, he was also a cry-baby. Whenever he was thwarted – not being made "Man of the Year" by Time magazine when he was 27, for instance – he burst into tears.
As for critiquing the work of others, Jobs's analytical style was forthright: "too gay" (rabbit icon on desktop); "a shithead who sucks" (colleague Jef Raskin); "fucking dickless assholes" (his suppliers); "a dick" (the head of Sony music); "brain-dead" (mobile phones not made by Apple).
...nobody every got rich by working for an asshole.
Has anyone else noticed that lefty bloggers get paid through Soros or google or some university while conservative bloggers tend to be unpaid and independent? We tend to have a few bloggers with book deals and a ton of self-motivated, after-hours, professional-something-else voices. Yet, we do not revolt or feel exploited because we are doing good for society by attempting to expose truth.
It is the difference between trying to be on the side of truth and believing truth is on your side.
Thank you for exposing the truth with your hard work.
Thank you to those who share that work with others.
Thank you to our families who understand us.
Thank you to our readers.
We commit our lives, fortunes and honor in order to keep those we love safe, secure and happy.
Here is the hard fact. Austerity in the United States is the only way to restore confidence in the U.S. Economy. Continued increases in government debt will undermine the dollar and confidence in our economy causing a global depression. The reason America is in a better position than Europe is that our dollar is undervalued. We could actually improve our economy through deflation or austerity. Deflation of an undervalued currency may actually restore the market equilibrium value and confidence in the economy. It is no guarantee, but a possibility in stark contrast with Europe.
Austerity in southern Europe will cause a damaging deflationary cycle because their currency is overvalued. To restore the market balance of their currency, these countries face massive dissatisfaction from their populations. Violence and protests would be the outcome and the only alternative is restored confidence through a recovering world economy that generates the wealth to stabilize southern Europe.
I apologize for the financial jargon used thus far. To summarize, America must cut spending immediately or the world will fall into a global depression. Europe is so far gone, that their only hope is for confidence in America's economic might to lead the world to prosperity and save their butts.
Enter Barack Obama, his latest "Jobs" bill and a new "Mortgage Loan Refinancing" program for houses that are up to 25% underwater. What is the economic effect of these efforts to "restore the housing market" and "create or save jobs?" The net effect is further public debt spending and private capitalization (consumer and bank debt). Both are the exact wrong courses of action. These actions erase confidence and hope in the American economy. By proxy, this will kick the remaining legs out of confidence in the world recovery. President Obama's jawboning of this agenda is eroding confidence and hope throughout the world.
We Americans again are faced with a choice between selfish, greedy comfort and hard, responsible good. It is our duty to stop the coming tragedy that I describe as The New Dark Age. However, most of us will be complacent. Unwilling to see beyond the handouts and take personal responsibility for our lives. Most Americans cannot accept the fact that we are engaged in a struggle for our way of life and the battleground is in our hearts.
It is our choice to fight in this new kind of conflict. We also must choose sides in this war. A war based upon the mutually assured destruction of the interconnected western world through economic assault. Western culture is on the brink and our president sides with those who are pushing it over the edge. We must choose the difficult path of personal responsibility or humanity faces tyranny ahead.
What if the President was chosen by national popular vote totals instead of by states through the electoral college?
Huge cities controlled through voter fraud will simply flood the vote counts with illegal ballots policed by the corrupt officials that will choose our leaders. Other states will have literally no impact on elections. Federal oversight does not exists for state election law, so the most corrupt states will go unchecked.
The best part is that 171 of the 270 electoral votes needed have already signed this into law. You will never guess which states have already passed this "bipartisan" scheme to end The Republic. Eighty one more electorial votes are currently in the process of passing this law.
The strategy to reelect Obama is now revealed. If this scheme is successful, our only hope is my plan to keep him off state ballots. However, the next would-be-dictator will likely be immune to such legal action.
UPDATE 10/24/2011: On Friday, October 28, The Heritage Foundation has scheduled a conference on this issue. It is good to see that we conservatives are becoming organized.
The following 2008 Saturday Night Live skit describes how Democrats destroyed the economy. Michelle Malkin noticed that the skit suddenly disappeared and posted a transcription with photos..
George Bush: W-w-w-w-ait. Wasn’t it my administration that warned about the problem six years ago? And it was the Democrats that refused to listen?!
Nancy Pelosi: What? Who told you that? That’s crazy. It was completely the other way around.
Barney Frank: Actually. This time, he’s sort of right.
Well here is the full video, preserved for all time or until the Googstapo remove it:
It was a typically beautiful, sunny day at the office on the Big Island of Hawaii when suddenly the unexpected happened. The tap water stopped flowing.
Workers scrambled to accommodate the situation by making plans to get water bottles at nearby stores while taking bathroom breaks. Many people asked questions about what had happened and why. Phones began ringing as friends and families called to confirm that everyone's water had shut off. A few concerned moments passed but we made due, assured that this must be a temporary situation.
Then the phones, cell phones and lights went dead. Power had also been lost. Confusion gripped the office as the news, radio and television fell silent before reporting anything. We were all literally in the dark, cut off from communication and left to wonder what might be happening. That was the moment when I began to seriously evaluate the situation.
To assess any immediate danger, I looked out the window. Everything looked normal toward the beach. The streets were full of cars and people scrambling along the sidewalk. There was no violence on the street, no tsunami rolling in, no enemy air force or invading alien army flying through the blue sky or the soft white clouds.
One cloud was not white, it was grey. As my eyes followed the cloud inland, it darkened. When the cloud reached the center of the island it was black and thinly streamed up from the big volcano.
Surely, the smoke had not caused all the turmoil. Smoke does not knock out power, water or communication. It occured to me that the flea bitten #InvadeSomeStreet protestors could be causing mayhem. Regardless, a feeling of dread washed over me.
If the volcano was about to erupt, could those elected to power be trusted to prepare the people. Would elites simply flee before the panicked masses clog up the routes of evacuation? Would elected leaders cut off our communications, electricity, fuel and other necessities in order to preserve and enrich themselves at our expense?
KABOOM!
America is an idea embodied by The U.S.Constitution. If usurped, this contract between We The People and the government is an illusion. Without the idea that is America, humanity is left hopeless and faces a New Dark Age.
How far will the Democrats go to get people to take our eyes off the ObamaCare Repeal? Pretty far, the latest attempt is H.R. 3011 - Transportation Security Administration Authorization Act of 2011. The current language of the bill will criminalize anything that would “convey the impression” or use the name or abbreviation of the Transportation Security Administration.
SEC. 295. PROTECTION OF THE NAMES FEDERAL AIR MARSHAL AND ADMINISTRATION:
Whoever, except with the written permission of the Assistant Secretary for Transportation Security (or the Director of the Federal Air Marshal Service for issues involving the Federal Air Marshal Service), knowingly uses the words ‘Transportation Security Administration’, ‘United States Transportation Security Administration’, ‘Federal Air Marshal Service’, ‘United States Federal Air Marshal Service’, ‘Federal Air Marshals’, the initials ‘T.S.A.’, ‘F.A.M.S.’, ‘F.A.M.’, or any colorable imitation of such words or initials, or the likeness of a Transportation Security Administration or Federal Air Marshal Service badge, logo, or insignia on any item of apparel, in connection with any advertisement, circular, book, pamphlet, software, or other publication, or with any play, motion picture, broadcast, telecast, or other production, in a matter that is reasonably calculated to convey the impression that the wearer of the item of apparel is acting pursuant to the legal authority of the Transportation Security Administration or Federal Air Marshal Service, or to convey the impression that such advertisement, circular, book, pamphlet, software, or other publication, or such play, motion picture, broadcast, telecast, or other production, is approved, endorsed, or authorized by the Transportation Security Administration or Federal Air Marshal Service .(Emphasis added.)
The First Amendment offers protection for satire and parody. Copyright law allows for a limitation referred to as the "Fair Use Doctrine." This bill currently has no limitation for parody or satire similar to "Fair Use" and creates broad prosecutorial discretion.
The bill's Democrat authors are as follows:
Rep. Michael Rogers [R-AL3]
Rep. Mo Brooks [R-AL5]
Rep. Chip Cravaack [R-MN8]
Rep. Peter King [R-NY3]
Rep. Daniel Lungren [R-CA3]
Rep. Timothy Walberg [R-MI7]
All Republicans? Wait, what? With Constitutional friends like these, who needs the Democrats?
A few weeks back there was a beer summit of The San Diego Local Order of Bloggers. I was the sole blogger to back Michele Bachmann over all the other candidates. At that time, Sarah Palin and Chris Christie were viable options and Herman Cain, who I run http://www.yes-we-can.com in support of, had not yet found his footing. My reasoning was that she has proven herself a warrior in addition to being a politician.
Economic freedom is the basis of individual freedom, but I must remind everyone that ObamaCare is the central issue of 2012. Wavers and executive orders are not sufficient to defeat it. It must be repealed and it will be a battle that only one person in the Republican field seems to understand.
Michele Bachmann is currently the only candidate to express the understanding and drive to repeal ObamaCare. If not repealed now, America will be changed forever. Private health insurance will soon go bankrupt and 114 million Americans then lose their coverage. These people will be left calling for government intervention. Government will then step in and grab control over every aspect of your body and life.
It is ObamaCare stupid. The overall economy is just a distraction compared to the threat of ObamaCare. The economy cannot be fixed until ObamaCare (and then other government overreach) is repealed.
If you understand the importance of the Repeal of ObamaCare, then consider support for Michele Bachmann. We need her to lead this fight and other candidates need to pledge full support of her efforts. It is her job to bring this issue to the forefront for 2012, but it is our job to support her efforts.
Full C-SPAN Video of Michelle Bachmann discussing the Repeal of ObamaCare in MOULTONBOROUGH, NH. (at about 20 minutes)
The petition (click here) has grown to 935 signatures in just a couple days. Five thousand signatures are needed and the web site is suddenly experiencing trouble registering email addresses other than gmail accounts. When this petition gets the required 5,000 signatures, "...the Obama Administration will review it, make sure it gets to the appropriate policy officials, and issue an official response" per the site's policy. The deadline is October 22, 2011.
Further, it sometimes takes several tries to get the petition to display in your browser. Keep trying to view the petition and it will eventually display. It will be a significant statement if we can complete this petition process before the Obama administration shuts it down.
Please share this information and help repeal ObamaCare. Since passage of ObamaCare at least 1 million more people have lost their insurance coverage and America's poverty rate has surged. Rates of insurance for unemployed adults under 26 years of age have fallen, but nearly double the number of people over 26 have lost their insurance.
"Between 2009 and 2010, the percentage of people covered by private health insurance declined from 64.5 percent to 64.0 percent, while the percentage covered by government health insurance increased from 30.6 percent to 31.0 percent. The percentage covered by employment-based health insurance declined from 56.1 percent to 55.3 percent." http://www.census.gov/newsroom/releases/archives/income_wealth/cb11-157.html
The Kaiser Family Foundation 2011 report shows, "The 9% increase for family premiums between 2010 and 2011 is significantly greater than the 3% family premium increase between 2009 and 2010."
Fellow SLOBs site Left Coast Rebel first brought this to my attention with an article by Full Metal Patriot. Links to share our efforts can be found on our blogs, but extensive sharing resources can be used with just a click from The San Diego Local Order of Bloggers website http://www.theslobs.org/.
The U.S. unemployment rate will be 9.1% or 9.2% for September 2011. Official Labor Department figures will be available on 10/7. This is effectively no change to the unemployment rate with around 17,000 private sector jobs added for September 2011.
Currently, I am pessimistic on the economy for the remainder of 2011. There is a reasonable risk that unemployment will rise to 10% by the end of the year.
In response the U.S. Federal Reserve, The Bank of England and the European Central Bank may coordinate a quantitative easing (QE) in an attempt to shock the economy. This would spur financial markets for approximately three months, the historic effectiveness of QE1 and QE2. Market sentiment eventually turns negative on inflationary risk and market uncertainty.
Corporate earning growth is going to be weak, so the stock market is not oversold. We are not at a stock market bottom yet. Companies that cut production and services to protect the bottom line will drive further unemployment.
These predictions underpin the astroturf, anti-capitalist strategic push behind Occupy Wall Street:
"Communism has never come to power in a country that was not disrupted by war or corruption, or both."
John Fitzgerald Kennedy.
For those who consider joining the Occupy Wall Street crowd, I remind you of the following:
"How do you tell a communist? Well, it's someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It's someone who understands Marx and Lenin."
"Capitalism and communism stand at opposite poles. Their essential difference is this: The communist, seeing the rich man and his fine home, says: 'No man should have so much.' The capitalist, seeing the same thing, says: 'All men should have so much.'"
"Most people who read "The Communist Manifesto" probably have no idea that it was written by a couple of young men who had never worked a day in their lives, and who nevertheless spoke boldly in the name of "the workers"."
Ronald Reagan
UPDATE 10/7/2011:
Since I normally do not make public economic predictions, lets look at how this played out in the news today:
While Businesses added a respectable 137,000 jobs, that number was bolstered by 45,000 Verizon (VZ, Fortune 500) strikers who returned to work last month. And that hiring was slightly offset by a loss of 34,000 public jobs, mostly at the local government level.
Meanwhile, the unemployment rate remained unchanged at 9.1%, in line with economists' forecasts.
The ECRI produces widely-followed leading indicators that predict when the economy is moving between recession and expansion -- and all those indicators are now pointing to a new economic downturn in the immediate future.
Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more!
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
11. American citizens are declared terrorists then targeted by HellFire missiles without trial or even legal justification. Tea Party grandmothers are called terrorists.
8. Occupy Wall Street has the same outrage as the Tea Party, but is AstroTurf paid for to promote communist state slavery and vilify the economic freedom of capitalism.
7. The mainstream media is so biased that it demonizes Tea Party freedom lovers and promotes Marxist revolutionaries.
6. Political correctness has made people fear the truth.
5. Children are not taught morality, independence or history. They are taught false self esteem, entitlement, and political correctness. They are now afraid of self examined truth.
4. ObamaCare grants government limitless power and ends individual liberty. It will lead to the progressive dream of population control.
3. Our economy was sabotaged by artificially high gas prices, government driven housing bubbles, debasement of the dollar, destruction of innovation friendly patent law, taxing and regulating jobs away, and dependency class warfare. Communists come to power through misery and hate.
2. The U.S. Constitution is only a piece of paper, and it is not the law in America today. Few Americans are prepared to defend freedom against their own government.
1. If freedom dies in America, it will die for all humanity.
Freedom as an experimental form of government has only existed, most recently, for 235 years. Liberty has transformed humanity, but 10,000 years of tyranny may prove that man is too evil and wily to resist the barbaric impulse to enslave those who are less fortunate. It is up to us to constantly defeat the evil that exists in humanity and I conclude with a reminder: You cannot reason with evil.
The following is from ABC News, believe it or not:
• Billionaire George Kaiser raised at least $50,000 for Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign.
• Kaiser's company, Solyndra, received a $535 million loan guarantee from DOE.
• Kaiser's company received the loan before DOE received final copies of outside reviews of the deal.
• Steven Spinner raised $500,000 for Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign.
• Spinner then became one of Energy Secretary Steven Chu's key loan advisers.
• Spinner later wrote that he "helped oversee the more than $100 billion" in loans and guarantees.
• Spinner executed 29 stock trades in energy companeis while serving as a DOE adviser
• Spinner held shares in at least four companies that received DOE loans
• Spinner's wife's law firm collected around $2.5 million while representing Solyndra
• Spinner's wife's law firm also represented two other companies that received $34 million from DOE
• Steve Westly raised $500,000 for Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign.
• Westly then became one of Energy Secretary Steven Chu's key advisers.
• Westly was an investor in five firms that received half a billion dollars in energy grants and loans from DOE.
• John V. Roos raised $500,000 for Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign.
• Roos' law firm (the same firm Spinner's wife worked for) collected around millions from DOE-funded companies.
