President to Delay ObamaCare Mandate Just as Tea Party Requested during Shutdown

On Monday at 11:25am in the White House Rose Garden, President Obama is having a press conference on the embarrassing ACME ObamaCare website (HealthCare.gov).

ACME ObamCare Websites

ObamaCare fines Americans who do not sign up on a website that does not work. This is the definition of unfair. The President will be forced to delay the ObamaCare mandate EXACTLY as the Republicans had asked for and President Obama denied in order to shutdown the government.

Before President Obama is forced to delay the individual mandate and admit the Tea Party was right, he will claim that the technical "glitches" can be fixed. Expect a "best and brightest techies will fix it" statement. Massive additional tax monies will be wasted on the effort. Unfortunately for the President, failing, poorly envisioned, multi-million dollar centralized systems aren't "fixed" by more or better programmers. They die and are redesigned.

Covered California Error
Massive customer service centered technology innovations are the realm of the free market, not big government.  Like education, no amount of money or big government will make the system work reasonably. But again, ObamaCare was never designed to work, it was designed to kill private insurance companies in order to force "single-payer" socialized medicine on Americans.

So the President and the Senate shutdown the government for nothing. They screamed and cried that it was Bush's fault or the "tea party's" fault to conceal the truth, but truth is hard to kill. In the end, ObamaCare must be delayed. If it is not, it will drive millions of Americans into the arms of its tea party.

...Or maybe the failed "ACME Healthcare" website is intended to take the blame for the system. Maybe this is all part of the "Single Payer" plan to provide a scapegoat for the administration when dealing with angry insurance companies. Blame "the website", the latest in a long line of  "blame Bush" tactics.

ObamaCare Shutdown Good For Americans, Bad for Progressives

The longer the government shutdown continues during the ObamaCare rollout the better.

As Americans are impacted by the ObamaCare disaster they will be looking for help from those who oppose it. They will consider who told the truth about ObamaCare as they see the unnecessary suffering it is causing. Obama and the Democrats lied to America. The longer and stronger we stand against ObamaCare, the more credibility and support we gain.

The progressive position is the opposite. The president has already forced one downgrade of America's Standard and Poor's credit rating on August 5th, 2011. The markets fell 634 points in a couple days. Standard and Poor's warned that raising the debt limit with no intention of paying it down was unacceptable.

The House of Representatives is fighting against unconditional debt limit raises and the massive new ObamaCare entitlement. Republicans have the support of the financial markets and the public-at-large supports the defunding of the Unaffordable Care Act entitlement. The stock market goes up as the tea party rebels against the massive government spending. The stock market should rise today (10/16/2013) if the debt limit is NOT raised.

Constitutional Stampede

President Obama and other progressives are standing defiantly in the path of a buffalo stampede unable to see the consequences of their stubbornness. They expect their "perception is reality" spin in the media to save them. They expect to step aside as the stampeding heard runs off a media cliff.

Unfortunately for them, REALITY EXISTS.

Obama and Reid are responsible for the shutdown and the public is learning more about it every day. The false blaming of Congress only works in a short news cycle. No spin or twitter campaign will turn this disaster to their advantage. Pointing fingers and lying isn't a winning strategy here. President Obama is likely prepared to sacrifice himself to save ObamaCare, but his sacrifice would be for nothing. Big government is failing again.

Progressive Democrats rely upon their top-down planning to provide solutions from the Ivory Tower. The ObamaCare plan is to usher in a crisis to be solved by government run single payer health care. The "progressives" are prepared for ObamaCare to fail. They created the law to take out insurance companies and drive government dependence. They didn't consider the bravery and honesty of patriotic americans fighting to save our fellow citizens from this arrogant scheme.

The President and his party should back down from a fight they can't win. They won't, so be prepared for more global-warming-style armageddon wolf cries. The media will also cry that the "tea party" can't win. They are wrong, at this point the tea party can't lose.

The President cannot get his demands through the House of Representatives. Establishment Republicans will take ownership of ObamaCare and the debt if they tread on the tea party. This is a perfect situation for Republicans to stand firm on behalf of all Americans.

Victory favors the bold. So boldly stand your ground and repeat..Don't Tread on Me!

Don't Treat on Me

Tweeting #ObamaShutdown Exposes Leftist Insanity

Truth is the main target of progressive attacks. The leftists use slogans, lies, corruption and cheating to overcome and stay ahead of the truth. It is not an enviable position in the world of twitter. So it is our duty to watch them squirm as they try to convince the world that the Senate and President Obama haven't caused the #ObamaShutdown to defend ObamaCare.

Crazier still is their argument that Republicans refuse to pass a budget, when ONLY Republicans have passed a budget since 2009. Despite it being required by law, Democrats refuse to pass a budget. This #ObamaShutDown is just another example of progressive lawlessness.
Organizing for Al Qaeda attack Republicans for lack of Budget

It is a matter of fact, not opinion, that President Obama has unilaterally amended ObamaCare to exclude Congress, provide waivers for his cronies and illegal aliens are exempt from fines. The Unaffordable Care Act known, commonly as ObamaCare, has been amended and delayed 19 times92% of Americans oppose Congress being exempted, one of the unilateral and unconstitutional changes to the law decreed by President Obama.

Yet, a one year delay and/or forcing Congress to live by their own law as proposed by Republicans in the House of Representatives is the legal amendment that the President cannot abide. Obama negotiates with Al Qaeda and dictators using poison gas, but not the elected representatives of the American people?!?

Well, lets do the one thing that the left cannot, tell the truth.

Go to twitter and use the hashtag #ObamaShutdown. Make it trend. Exhaust all of their meds!

After using #ObamaShutdown, the progressive think tanks launched #GOPShutdown in response. Their astroturf effort quickly faded away, but they will have nightmares if we trend with real people. Bloggers will post, MSNBC will whine and their efforts to lie to the American people will be upended.

It is time to flex a little social media muscle!

Here is a sample of the insanity you will run into, but just remember, "that means you are winning."

Left Wing Twitter Insanity

Notes:

1) As additional evidence that this government shutdown is being misrepresented, fellow SLOBs blogger W.C. Varones shows us that the stock market is up today in What if they Thew a Shutdown and No One Cared?

2) On ObamaCare, we all know it is a scheme to destroy insurance and force everyone into Single Payer government controlled health care. Allow me to remind you that during this process, 50 million Americans will lose their employer sponsored health insurance. Americans will suffer illness, injury and disease without the coverage they otherwise would have had if not for the ObamaCare scheme.

If they succeed with this Single Payer scheme, quality of care will suffer, death panels will be empowered, and incentives for cures will be distorted by politics and bureaucracy. Ultimately, America will lose its leadership role in curing disease. If another country does not step-up, humanity faces a world where disease outpaces medical innovation. Example, we are down to one antibiotic to fight MRSA.

Fighting ObamaCare isn't about politics, it is about lives. The progressives, in this #ObamaShutdown, have proven that they are concerned with politics not people. Help us in this fight for our lives.

Tea Party Blogger Blamed for Syria

I, a tea party member, am responsible for the political and civil unrest in Syria. I also am to blame for President Barack Obama's handling of the issue. Further, it is I, not Congress who will decide whether the president is authorized to use force in Syria, the mess which I created. Neither President Barack H. Obama nor the United States Congress hold any blame whatsoever in this situation. This is my confession.

Al Qaeda Enemy, Enemy, Enemy ...REBELS

Certain facts have been omitted for national security reasons. However, this post is an full confession to the American people of my mishandling and mismanagement of the situation. It serves as exculpatory testimony for Republicans, Democrats, Conservatives, Liberals, Progressives, NeoCons, Occupy, Tea Party, Independents, youtube movie makers and all other Americans.

Let me begin with a sincere apology. Because of me, my fellow Americans are frustrated, America's credibility in the world is shaken and the world's powers are at odds. These are consequences to which I was blind. For these things, I am gravely sorry.

The exercise of power and the accumulation of knowledge come at a price. The price we pay is the corruption of our own humility and conscience.  The founding fathers were right to implement the Separation of Powers in the U.S. Constitution. This situation serves as a reminder to lead by ageless wisdom:

The more prohibitions you have, the less virtuous people will be.
The more weapons you have, the less secure people will be.
The more subsidies you have, the less self-reliant people will be.

Therefore the Master says:
I let go of the law, and people become honest.
I let go of economics, and people become prosperous.
I let go of religion, and people become serene.
I let go of all desire for the common good, and the good becomes common as grass.

A great nation is like a great man;
When he makes a mistake, he realizes it.
Having realized it, he admits it.
Having admitted it, he corrects it.
He considers those who point out his faults as his most benevolent teachers.
He thinks of his enemy as the shadow that he himself casts.
My meddling was motivated by the pursuit of the common good. Therein lies the fatal flaw in the common good. It doesn't require good, it only requires justifications and rationalizations in the pursuit of self aggrandizement.

Star Spangled Banner
So, this crisis is not the doing of an anti-Syrian Youtube video. The president is not to blame. The military-industrial complex is not at fault. Oil, climate change and religion are off the hook. Finally, Congress is innocent in this situation. I take full responsibility.

As the only person willing to take responsibility, the authorization and decision to attack Syria becomes my responsibility. This decision shall not be abdicated. No excuses are offered. The buck has stopped here.

Whatever happens blame me, a tea partier, it is always my fault.

God bless America and long may the star-spangled banner wave over the land of the free and the home of the brave!

P.S.

Do you hear me now Obama, McCain, Congress? You no longer have to worry about politics and can do what is best for the country. Point all fingers here.

Syria Reveals Rise of Islam In America

From Ow.Ly TamiJ
Late August 2013, between 9% and 15% of Americans support U.S. intervention in the Syrian Civil war. Attacking Syria in retaliation for using chemical weapons on civilians does not seem to ring true since more than 100,000 people have died in that civil war. Syria is a situation exclusively handled by Hillary Clinton and President Barack Obama.

Doo Doo EconomicsScratching Post, Liberator TodayCanto Talk, Beers With Demo, Word Warrior and many of my tea party compatriots at the San Diego Local Order of Bloggers oppose war in Syria. There are very few social issues on which Americans unanimously agree, but this is one. America spent blood and treasure fighting al-Qaeda, we do not want to become al-Qaeda's air force after arming them in violation of international law.

Assumed U.S. Soldiers opposed to War in Syria

Syrian Rebels from al-Nusra execute Shia truck drivers
As a refresher, al-Qaeda are Sunni Islamic extremists. Here is video of Syrian al-Nusra (al- Qaeda) rebels executing Shia, Alawite, truck drivers due to their religion. The battle for Islamic control between Sunni and Shia is far beyond the scope of a blog post. However, something happened on Twitter which shocked America. We need to closely review the fact that Sunni, Muslim Brotherhood, front man Luis Farrakhan seems to have come out AGAINST an attack on Syria.

To put this in context: Many Americans believe President Obama is Muslim. If true, would he be Shia or Sunni? From controversial blogger Lame Cherry:
What requires understanding in this is Kenyans are Sunni Muslims who Obama is born from. Indonesians are Sunni Muslims who Obama was adopted into. Malcolm Little or X was a convert to Sunni Islam who Obama learned to be black from according to David Remnick. Louis Farrakhan or Louis Eugene Walcott, who Obama had Walcott's followers intimidate reporters in Chicago moved the Nation of Islam Mooselums closer to Sunni theology.
Barack Obama Soetoro was financed by Saudi Sunni Islam, the same sects as Sheik bin Laden, for his schooling.
So to answer the question as to which branch of Islam that Obama's loyalties lay, the answer is he is a Sunni Muslim
In addition to the Lame Cherry statement, President Obama supported the "Arab Spring" in Egypt to the benefit of The Muslim Brotherhood. When the Brotherhood was ousted, the president spoke out against the regime change in the face of Christians being slaughtered. In Benghazi, the president armed al-Qaeda, the palestinians, Sunni Iraqi insurgents and the country of Libya came within a few votes of Muslim Brotherhood control. Ambassador Stevens' work in Libya strengthened the opposition to the Muslim Brotherhood, he is now dead.

Why would Sunni Islamists oppose the use of American military power to gain al-Qaeda/Muslim Brotherhood control of Syria? Is it coincidence that President Obama reconsidered his position and threw the decision to Congress, or was he just itching to get back to playing golf? The best that we can do is summarize what was said by Farrakhan in video and on Twitter. (Click links for raw info.)

Your point of view on this matter is very helpful, so here is my "reporter" style tweet to start:

Here is Luis Farrakhan advertising his speech:
The video sermon is about 1.5 hours. We reviewed it in all of its disjointed glory. The closest mirror-image allegory is America's progressive-left opposing President George W. "Bush's War", but remaining silent when President Obama exceeds "W"'s imperial presidency at every turn. As Silvio Canto puts it, "  The mask is off: They hated Bush, not war."

Farrakhan insinuates on Obama
It could be that President Obama is "not Muslim enough" for Minister Farrakhan, or maybe he is viewed as an "apostate" or as "not a good Muslim" by anti-Obama Islamic leaders. Maybe it is simply a power struggle. Maybe the Alex Jones accusations that President Obama assumed control of al-Qaeda after killing Osama Bin Laden strikes some fear in Farrakhan. In this power struggle, is President Obama the moderate Muslim?

Here are a few #Farrakhan "peaceful" reactions from Twitter. Some seem to be threats to the President:
By contrast, the tea party is the "party of peace." Moreover, that this trended in the United States twittersphere is a shock. Doo Doo Economics is all over twitter and this is the first such American Islamic "pop-culture" trend noticed.

We appreciate your help in getting to the bottom of the question, "Is Islam rising in America?"

Glenn Beck, from my viewing, would answer "YES." What do you say?

Birthdate, ObamaCare and Information Privacy

There is an old saying among gentlemen that goes, "never ask a woman her age." In the age of Big Data, here is a new nugget of genderless common sense for everyone: "Never give your Birthdate, EVER." When you give someone your birthdate, sex and zip code they can identify you. If they combine this information with publicly available data, they can identify you by name.

A website called How Unique Are You shows precisely how. The website was created to alert you to the dangers to your privacy. Go fill out your information and look in horror as you are identified. Most results narrow down to just one possible person.

Sample Identifiability

From the site's About page
This service reports how unique your demographics may be using Census data.

Birthdate (month, day and year of birth), gender, and 5-digit postal code (ZIP) uniquely identifies most people in the United States. Surprised? Perhaps at first, but then you do a quick calculation: 365 days in a year x 100 years x 2 genders = 73,000 unique combinations, and because most postal codes have fewer people, the surprise fades. Or, if you are still not convinced, there are more than 32,000 5-digit ZIP codes in the United States; so 73,000 x 32,000 is more than 2 billion possible combinations but there are only 310 million people in the United States. In 1997, Latanya Sweeney did this kind of uniform calculation on populations reported in the U.S. Census for age groups in each postal code and summed the results to predict that at most 87 percent of the U.S. population had unique combinations
If you live in a remote location, you are easier to identify.
Notice that even knowing the county, age, and gender can make some people unique. They are few, and they tend to live in remote locations, but notice it is not 0.
Identifiability Graphs

The page goes on to explain the real problem, 87.1% of Americans are identifiable. Many marketers and other organizations share your information but protect privacy by concealing your name, address and social security number. Using publicly available information like a voter list and matching it with nameless private data such a medical records, privacy intruders can easily rebuild your identity data via demographics.

Medical data Plus Voter info equal names

Disguised as expanding Americans’ access to healthcare, a central database with all this information is being established. The Federal Data Services Hub is being assembled as part of ObamaCare’s insurance exchange implementation. Stephen T. Parente and Paul Howard report in USA Today:
By mid-December, the federal government is planning to quietly enact what could be the largest consolidation of personal data in the history of the republic. If you think identity theft is a problem now, wait until Uncle Sam serves up critical information on 300 million American citizens on a platter. ..

In order to determine eligibility for health insurance subsidies, the new exchange has to bring together information about you and your family from the Treasury Department and IRS, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, as well as your Social Security number — all coordinated by the Department of Health and Human Services.

Additionally, there is no vetting process for those who will collect and control the medical information. There are no data privacy or fraud safeguards in ObamaCare (Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act) as it moves toward full implementation on Jan. 1, 2014. This is how the government and criminals will use the system to gather all of your private information.

Finally, consider that ObamaCare tax money is funding far left organizations. Nearly $200 million was secretly funneled to unions and far left groups in California alone as "outreach" for ObamaCare. These groups will collect and have access to all of your health information. As we see in the IRS scandal, they will use this power to rig elections and subvert our constitutionally protected civil rights.

The Civil Disobedience Solution

Now you know the problem, but all too often blogs and pundits fail to provide solutions. Not this time.

In the 1960's a Republican named Martin Luther King Jr. reminded us: "One has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws." Today, we must echo this sentiment and begin using the 15th of every month as our birthdates with regard to ObamaCare, other medical and all marketing information. This will destroy any ability to individually target us through demographic information.

Conservative legislators should pass a law allowing individuals to report the 15th of their birth month as their birthday in all federal documents relating to medical information. Possibly, this could be amended to HIPAA (The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996). Maybe a brilliant law-maker has already added this to a law somewhere. If so, please add the information to the comments below.

Do not be concerned about existing information that you no longer control. This suggestion is for information within your control and can be applied to social networks immediately. Previously given information will be corrupted by future information. Privacy experts and computer professionals like myself will narrow down any additional "cross-checks" that are developed by Big Data collection.

This civil disobedience is a reflection of the simple truth that the freedom movement, the tea party, the 912 project and other groups are civil rights movements. It is time for us to take our place in history.

Edward Snowden Big Brother NSA Whistleblower, Ron Paul Donor

STOP BIG BROTHER
STOP BIG BROTHER
(turn it upside down
if you don't get it.)
Click for tshirt

Edward Snowden is the NSA Whistleblower. The Guardian provided a video interview from Hong Kong with the former intelligence worker allowing him to explain his motivations. It is well worth watching. The headline of the interview is:
'I don't want to live in a society that does these sort of things'
(For those of you on a SLOBS App, the video is an enclosure.)

Also of note is the fact that Mr.Snowden is a Ron Paul Contributor (h/t Buzzfeed) :

Edward Snowden - Ron Paul Supporter

Twitter exploded with the #IStandWithEdwardSnowden and #Snowden comments. In the interest of brevity, we leave it to you to to explore all the commentary. Occupy Wall Street is a major supporter of Mr. Snowden, which creates some interesting common ground. The NSA, IRS, DOJ, EPA and other scandals have revealed what this blog has alluded to, we are on the verge of a police state.

Commentary

The tea party supports the Constitutional Rule of Law, but we are apparently beyond that now.  It is time to consider the dangers exposed by curbing our intelligence agencies. We have known for years that the NSA monitors all electronic communication. There is no shock to the recent revelations. Hindering these operations would put us at increased risk as a people. The point is, SO WHAT?

Risk and fear are a part of life and even our super-powered government isn't immune. Consider a recent tweet we received:

Free people must live in risk and danger. America use to be "the land of the free and the home of the brave." those two descriptors go hand and hand. It IS time to discuss the level of risk each free person must be expected to endure to preserve freedom.

Personally, I would rather legally carry a loaded handgun than rely on police. From my point of view, not only would my person be more safe and secure, but every citizen around me would be better off, including the police. There are choices a reasonable person should be expected to make. Housing, healthcare, personal protection, protection of property, retirement planning, and end of life planning are a fraction of the responsibilities free people traditionally embrace.

Earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, volcanoes, and asteroids are risks inherent to all life, but planning (or not) for them is a responsibility for critically thinking free people. Terrorism, organized crime, foreign invasion and corrupt government are similarly risks inherent in our world. They are risks which our Constitution balanced with individual freedom. The question is whether Americans remain brave enough to take on the responsibilities of freedom or will fear push us into the false security of the police state. Individually, we cannot defeat terrorism, crime or war but again, SO WHAT?

Mankind is not on earth to stop people from making wrong or even evil choices. We are here to make choices for ourselves. That is humanity. No government or community or village can make our decisions for us if we are to pursue life, liberty and happiness. The economics of freedom do not allow for that, reward comes with risk.

Your choice is simple, sell our freedom for security like Edward Snowden had done, or realize as quickly as you can that there is no adequate compensation for surrendering humanity.

Allow me to put it another way. Either work for freedom or accept fate. But beware, fate is decided by whoever has the greatest lust for power.

Back to the Subject at Hand

For putting his own life at risk opposing the most powerful forces on earth, Edward Snowden is a Tienanmen square tank man. I disagree with him regarding China, but his courage or foolishness is admirable. He was smart to go public, but it didn't save...

Microsoft: Tea Party App "Divisive" for Report on Islamic Terrorism

The SLOBS WIndows 8 App

The Obama Administration's IRS criminally targeted the tea party, Jewish, and minority conservative groups to interfere with the 2012 election. The DOJ targeted reporters to silence scandals during the election. The White House jailed an innocent man to support the Benghazi cover-up prior to the election. Government, however, might not be the only powerful entity in America bullying groups. Microsoft may be discriminating against the tea party on the Windows App Store.

Our tea party group, The San Diego Local Order of Bloggers (The SLOBs), is not based on political party, religion, race, gender, age or sexual orientation. We are concerned with taxes and the growth of government as it infringes upon civil rights. Occasionally, we address other important issues as individuals concerned for the freedom of humanity. The tea party is about civil rights.

Our Windows 8 app is the only tea party news app on the Windows App Store. A recent technical update to our app was rejected by Microsoft's testers as "divisive" because one article discussed the roots of Islamic supremacists.

Bloggers use attention grabbing story titles. The post in question is titled, "Islam: Violence Emanates from its Core." Microsoft's reviewers use personal judgement in reviewing content compliance issues. In fairness, it is understandable that this post was subjected to review based upon the title. Lets look at this article. The article begins:
The Boston Marathon bombings, by a seemingly “average” college student and his more obviously troubled and radicalized older brother has led to discussion on our policy towards Muslim immigrants; and our Visa policy regarding foreign students in general. What it should also trigger is a meaningful policy discussion on the nature of Islamic violence. Because unlike any other religion in the world, violence is an integral part of Islam.

The problem lies within the Quran itself.
Microsoft's reviewers noted:
The content in this app appeared, to our reviewers, to be to divisive.
Windows Store App Content Findings
The precise violation referenced is:
5.2 Your app must not contain content that advocates discrimination, hatred, or violence based on membership in a particular racial, ethnic, national, linguistic, religious, or other social group, or based on a person’s gender, age, or sexual orientation
There are two concerns with this content issue.
  1. The certification requirements do not specify "divisive" as a violation. "Divisive" is a subjective term that might apply to dog lovers who are offended by pictures of cats. ( KT Cat would be "divisive.")
  2. "This is one example of the issue." This statement suggests that there are multiple examples of "content that advocates discrimination, hatred, or violence."  There are not.
Obviously, the post topic is politics and religion, but there is no "advocating discrimination, hatred or violence." It is quite the opposite. The article opposes violence perpetrated by those who are part of a violent subset of the Islamic faith.
But to the truly dedicated, observant, fundamentalist Muslims these more cerebral (nice) Muslims aren’t really Muslims at all. To the ones we call “radicals”, a real Muslim has the Allah-given task of converting, enslaving, or killing the rest of us.
“Good Muslims” are commanded to kill other Muslims who stray from the path.  Consequently, the nice Muslims have to keep their mouths shut. This slows down the spread of the nicer varieties of Islam; while the radicalization of Mosques (or ”cells” within those Mosques) goes unabated.
The topic in this article is controversial. It is not politically correct, but it is factually correct and observable.
Since 9/11/01, there has been an average of 5 attacks a day by Muslim terrorists!
The blog post in question was written prior to the beheading of British soldier Lee Rigby in London by a British born convert to Islam and his friend. Since the post, video by Human Rights Watch showed a Syrian rebel eating a soldier's heart to the chant "Allahu Akbar." Currently, the top story on Google news is President Obama's comment that America is at a "crossroads" in fighting terrorism.
"America has confronted many forms of violent extremism in our time. Deranged or alienated individuals - often U.S. citizens or legal residents - can do enormous damage, particularly when inspired by larger notions of violent jihad," Mr. Obama said. "Homegrown extremists. This is the future of terrorism."
To stop the terrorism, we must understand it. To understand it, we must discuss it from all perspectives. There is an observable trend around the world which must be considered for the sake of survival. Because Americans are intimidated from honest debate on Islamic terrorism, President Obama made this statement today:
Moreover, we have to recognize that these threats don’t arise in a vacuum.  Most, though not all, of the terrorism we faced is fueled by a common ideology — a belief by some extremists that Islam is in conflict with the United States and the West, and that violence against Western targets, including civilians, is justified in pursuit of a larger cause.  Of course, this ideology is based on a lie, for the United States is not at war with Islam.  And this ideology is rejected by the vast majority of Muslims, who are the most frequent victims of terrorist attacks.

Nevertheless, this ideology persists, and in an age when ideas and images can travel the globe in an instant, our response to terrorism can’t depend on military or law enforcement alone. We need all elements of national power to win a battle of wills, a battle of ideas.  So what I want to discuss here today is the components of such a comprehensive counter-terrorism strategy.

First, we must finish the work of defeating al Qaeda and its associated forces.
This statement is a failure of leadership. It is lukewarm to the observable threat. These comments are a politically correct mess from a man trying to manage his image without uttering "Islam." A fate that Microsoft might impose on us via the term "divisive."

Word Warrior does not mince words on the subject. To be fair and balanced, his conclusion does use the term "evil". Those unable or unwilling to consider the point of the article could challenge the semantics of the conclusion:
Religiously, it is unique to Islam. There are no Christian terrorist organizations or movements, financing and sponsoring terrorism in the name of Christ. Nor are there any such Buddhist nor Hindu groups.

Liberals hate the idea of evil. But radical Islam is as evil in the 21st Century as Christianity sometimes was in the Middle Ages. And Islam has no prospect of getting any better, of internal reformation because the evil in it comes from its most fundamental tenets.

The evil in Christianity came from ignoring its fundamental tenets.

Conclusion

Word Warrior explored Islamic supremacists, but does not "advocates discrimination, hatred, or violence." He is reporting on a hard truth in an effort to save lives. We hope that Microsoft reviewers keep this in mind when reviewing our technical app update which has nothing to do with content.

With all this said, the post in question is no longer displayed in our app. The SLOBs app includes dozens of articles. The articles update with the news cycle and feature only the most recent posts. Most of the content is created by our authors, but we also include feeds from respected news organizations as supplemental information on our top story. The constant updates keep our content dynamic and fresh.

The SLOBs Android App
We also have an Android app which has been perfected over many revisions. It never ran into similar content issues. As bloggers, we consistently deal with politically incorrect issues. The issue of Islamic terrorism is one topic requiring open discussion despite pressures to acquiescence to intimidation and fear.

We have re-submitted app Release 3 to the Windows App Store. It will be interesting to see what they say this time.

How to Help

Please go download our free Windows App and support our efforts. Hopefully, Release 3 will be waiting for you to download.

If you are interested in reaching tea party members, consider purchasing an advertisement for the "SLOBS W8" ad unit under the category "News" (250px by 250px). We have graphics to help you create your ad.

UPDATE: A Happy Ending

Revision 3 was approved by Microsoft and is now on the Windows App Store.

California Prop 32: Popular with Voters and Tea Party

Don't Tread On Me

An October 19, 2012 Reason Foundation poll reported by Emily Ekins (Reason-Rupe Poll: Public Pension and Government Spending Reforms Are Popular With California Voters) shows support for California's Proposition 32. The Proposition limits automated paycheck deductions for political purposes by employers and unions.
Proposition 32 and Public Sector Worker Reforms
The poll finds 45 percent of likely voters support Proposition 32, while 48 percent oppose it. Prop. 32 would prevent unions and corporations from using automatic paycheck deductions for political purposes.
While voters may reject telling unions how they can collect or spend their money, they are eager for elected officials to rein in public sector worker costs. In fact, 77 percent say they favor requiring government workers to pay more for their own health care and retirement benefits; 20 percent oppose doing so.

Likewise, 69 percent say future government workers—those who haven’t been promised defined-pensions—should be offered 401(k)-style retirement plans instead of the guaranteed pensions currently provided.

Nearly three quarters, 74 percent, of Californians say taxpayers should get to vote on retirement and benefit increases before they are given to government workers. Just 22 percent say taxpayers should not get to approve public sector benefit increases. The public wants its voice to be heard on the issue because 53 percent feel public sector unions have too much power over elected officials at the negotiating table and 42 percent say government unions hurt the state economy. Seventeen percent say public sector unions help the economy.

One specific example: 53 percent of Californians say the average state prison guard, who costs taxpayers over $100,000 a year in salary, overtime and benefits, is overpaid. Thirty-eight percent say guards are paid about the right amount and 6 percent say they are underpaid.
This poll coincides with broad sentiments responsible for the tea party movement and a growing belief that public employee unions are hurting the common welfare. On September 10, 2012, Polling Shows Most Americans Think Teachers Unions Have Hurt Public Education Quality reported the following:
Since 1976, Gallup has surveyed Americans’ perception of teachers unions' efficacy. In April 1976, 38 percent of Americans believed that teachers unions hurt the quality of public education in the United States. By 2011, nearly half of Americans think teacher unionization has hurt the quality of public education in the United States.
Teachers Unions Hurting Not Helping Education

Retirement should be Responsibility of Individuals
Emily Emkins spoke on October 16th as part of a Cato Institute panel: Libertarian Roots of the Tea Party broadcast on C-SPAN. Her discussion included research that tea party and most non tea party Americans believe that retirement planning should be the responsibility of individuals and not government. This sentiment impacts the same voter motivations relied upon by unions to push for power.

Americans for Social Security Reform
A common left-wing retort to tea party sentiments has portrayed selfishness and hypocrisy within the movement on the issues of Medicare and Social Security. Emkins debunked these accusations with research on tea party sentiments on each issue. Most tea party supporters are also supportive of entitlement reforms including social security reforms.

The most famous accusation made against tea party supporters is the "keep your government hands off my Medicare" attack. Many tea party supporters have counter-attacked that the entire narrative was fabricated using union plants and Photoshop. Regardless, data shows that it is wishful thinking and marketing on the part of the left.

Americans in favor of Medicare ReformThe polling shows 74% of tea party supporters and 49% of non tea party Americans are in favor of Medicare reform. When paid-in benefits are guaranteed, Medicare reform support strengthens with 65% of non tea party Americans willing to sacrifice personal benefits for the good of the country.

America willing to Reform Medicare with Paid-In Benefit GuaranteedSacrifice for the good of the country is not a virtue assigned to the targets of Proposition 32. Union bosses wield political influence on the backs of workers through required automatic paycheck withdrawals. Crony capitalist corporations also politically tilt the law in their favor.

Money is spent on political contributions and lavish lobbyist jobs to further the advantageous status quo or create an unfair competitive environment. Public employee unions use the "cycle of tax payer money" to boost their political power and increase their tax payer funded benefits. Benefits that are currently out of reach for the individual tax payer who is footing the bill.

Corporations use their political influence to gain opportunities that are excluded to the tax payers at large. Privileged access to foreclosed homes is one example. The California tax payer is currently hindered from buying low priced homes while interest rates are low due to excessive bank regulations and the Fanny/Freddie secondary market. A market that only funds loans for the most typical home in the most typical neighborhood. These typical homes are scarce in California. When found, the typical home buyers are outbid by multiple investment corporations with cash offers and face restrictive loan regulations. Regulations which will be lifted the moment that corporate investors decide to sell the properties at a massive profit.

Traditionally, America's real estate market provides opportunities to frugal families and individual investors. The free real estate market has created millionaires in every previous economic recovery. This time around,  investment corporations will be the big winners due to the new loan market created by regulations, Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac.

Beset on all sides by the inequities of regulations and the tyranny of union bosses, California tax payers are deciding to take a stand with Proposition 32.

Tea Party vs. GOP: The Future

Tea Party Paul Revere
Mitt Romney will win the election in November. He has grassroots support from the tea party and the selection of Paul Ryan has cemented it. Gov. Romney must now concentrate on independent and moderate voters and make the case that he is the better choice for America. In that, Mitt will not fail.

Mitt, being a moderate Republican who won in Democrat controlled Massachusetts, is well suited to the task of winning moderate votes. As a man with a business background, he is better equipped to run America than his opponent. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are a better team, and they have my support.

With that said, once elected they will have to win my support on a day by day basis. This is because the GOP establishment opposes the grassroots movement. This is true in San Diego where volunteers have been replaced by donation-paid staff, soviet-style party rules and intimidation.  It is true in the state of California where the party is a complete failure. This is true at the national level, as is now evidenced by Tuesday's assault on Ron Paul supporters, tea party supporters and other grassroots groups with the introduction of rules 15, 16 and 12 during the convention.

Fellow SLOB, Republican Mother's article over at Left Coast Rebel, "Rules Change = Dictatorship"outlines the story of rules 15, 16 and 12.
...if Mitt gets his way with this new rule change, he'll be the one selecting all the RNC delegates in 2016, meaning that the grassroots will be mowed down permanently. This has not only (Ron) Paulers upset, but your run of the mill Tea Party types like Dick Armey, Michelle Malkin and even Mark Levin.
Additional Left Coast Rebel reporting continues:
Unfortunately,  just because I haven't tuned in doesn't mean I'm not privy to the GOP establishment's delegate/grassroots shafting that just took place...
In short, rule 15 was renumbered rule 16 after being watered down. Rule 15 would have allowed the national party to veto state-elected delegates. It was effectively an establishment purge of the grassroots. The grassroots would no longer be a factor in selecting candidates. It was compromised and rewritten as rule 16 due to backlash.

Rule 12 allows for rules to be written between conventions. This empowers a group of establishment elitists to mold the party without grassroots input. Further, it makes the compromise on rule 16 null and void because a new rule could be created between conventions with no knowledge or input from the state parties.

Speaker of the House John Boehner passed rule 12 "unanimously" over an equal number of "nays" as witnessed by the following report:

Boehner over Angry Convention Crowd
Watch until about 2:39:00 when Speaker of the House John Boehner takes the podium and asks for a voice vote on the rules. The “nays” from the floor were at least as loud as the “yeas,” but Boehner approved the rules “without objection.”
What a joke.
Meanwhile, a North Dakota delegate texted me from the floor of the convention saying that they were instructed to chant “USA” (you can hear it during the video) to drown out the dissenters.
The tea party is often attacked by the progressive left. We know that the press and people like Aaron Sorkin demonize us due to their ignorance. Higher ranking progressive fear us as the embodiment of America's individualist ideals. These blinded progressives are about to be confronted by the reality of the tea party.

Because tea party sentiment was conceived at the end of the Bush administration, a narrative of "racism" and anti-Obamaism was established by the statists. President Obama is worse than President Bush, but conservatives were horrified by the final months of the Bush administration. We had faith that a president who had brought 4%+ GDP growth for several years was knowledgeable enough to understand that bank bailouts and TARP was a bad idea. When that faith was betrayed, even by 2008 presidential candidate John McCain, new leaders emerged. Leaders like Indiana Rep. Mike Pence (R) and Rep. Paul Ryan (R) began to call for fiscal sanity.

President Obama took office and made matters worse. If he had listened to the voices of the tea party, he would have had a massively successful presidency.  The president is a basketball fan, as am I. To put the issue in that vernacular, he should have played the presidency "inside-out." Shore up your "inside game", in this case domestic policy and support from grassroots groups. "Get other players involved" by passing the ball to the tea party on issues where we are wide open to score. After the "inside" game is strong, start passing "outside" for game-changing foreign policy shots with misses rebounded by the strong "inside" game.

Instead he hogged the ball. President Obama never broke down the defense. He left financial conservatives in the wings to "get cold." Every shot he took since has been contested and his misses have led to easy points for his opponents.

This analogy breaks down because the President has missed almost all of his shots. His only "three pointer" is the Bin Laden raid. Even in this, he wants full credit instead of acknowledging the American military. He has been a bad player for America. If this were actually basketball, he would have hit a better percentage or the coach would have pulled him from the game.

Back to reality:

Like many establishment Republicans, President Obama did not understand the credibility and power of the tea party. Many on the left are about to understand, because the grassroots tea party is about to take on the GOP establishment. We shall be the force that holds them accountable.

So much for the calls of racism and anti-Obamaism. Indisputable evidence will gather that the tea party is not against anyone, we are for America. We are Republican and Democrat. We are socially conservative and liberal. We are America.

Gov. Mitt Romney is not a tea party candidate. Mitt has a business background and can throw rhetoric to the tea party. However, his actions and policies are too often top-down. RomneyCare is one example. His campaign's push for rules 12, 15 and 16 is a foreshadowing of trouble ahead.. This is their "pro-active" response to insulate President Romney from tea party backlash.

President Romney can side with us or against us. His decision will define his presidency. The question Mitt must answer is not whether we believe in him, but whether he believes in us.

It appears that the tea party will be President Romney's loyal opposition. There may be a short lull as many conservatives breath a sigh of relief to the end of an error. Personally, I had hoped that the lull would be several months but it appears we needed to be energized Tuesday as the convention rules were "Boehnered." The first shot has been fired upon us.

Was Paul Ryan duped?

The Paul Ryan pick for VP seems like an olive branch to the tea party. Rep. Ryan has been the leader of congressional calls for fiscal responsibility. After the events of the convention on Tuesday, it appears that Representative Ryan will be put on ice in the VP slot. Without Paul Ryan leading congress, the hard-won branch of government required to control spending is leaderless. A major force in credible leadership against massive spending has been removed from the equation.

Rep. Ryan will assist in winning the Oval Office. He adds gravitas in the policy discussion of the national budget.  Paul Ryan shores up tea party grassroots support.  Liberator Today comments upon the impressiveness of Paul Ryan's Wednesday Speech from a tea party perspective:
The best line in his speech was about the so called Affordable Care Act:
Obamacare comes to more than two thousand pages of rules, mandates, taxes, fees, and fines that have no place in a free country.
The way he emphasized the words free country got my attention. It is that freedom which is under assault, ...
If team Romney is looking ahead to see fight with the grassroots, the Paul Ryan pick is a triple-win for the GOP establishment. One of the fangs of tea party fiscal conservatism has been pulled.

It is time to ask for support from left-leaning Americans. Tea party supporters will prove to be motivated solely by the best intentions for America. In the coming months, the tea party has the opportunity to prove itself as the core of America. The core of an America which values both heart and mind and has traditionally found solution for liberals and conservatives.

It's the case that the tea party has better solutions for all Americans. Humanity is best when hearts and minds are focused upon the same task. Thus far, false accusations have kept many liberals hearts from our fold. It is time to appeal to the fiscally conservative and moderate liberals who love America as the land of opportunity. It is time to present solutions that will sooth fears about "the end of upward social mobility."  It is time for the media to clear it's vision, and present our solutions instead of their fears.

The people in the tea party have differing strengths. Some can explain the damage of illegal immigration, and others the folly of centralized planning. We only need a microphone or a camera. People will see that the tea party could easily be named the Party of Reagan or the Party of Americans. It is the future, if we keep working.

It is incumbent upon us to send a message to liberal Americans. "The tea party will be the ones holding the GOP's feet to the fire. The false narrative that the tea party is "racist" against President Obama is over. It is time to have a discussion about solutions. Working together we can create even better solutions. It is time for your support. Together we will take America back to prosperity."

Tea Party Infiltration Report: Signs of the Tide: How to Be an Advocate for Your Community

CoastKeeper's Signs of the Tide

USD Law School hosted an event by San Diego CoastKeepers called "Signs of the Tide:How to Be an Advocate for Your Community." The event focused on training environmental activists and advocates to be more effective when dealing with legislative and regulatory agencies.  As a tea party supporter, the event was an opportunity to learn the tactics of the environmental left.

Before we dive into a summary of the discussion, let me set the scene. CoastKeepers served Oggi's Pizza, cookies, submarine sandwiches and even mini-muffins. It was a delicious and free meal for aspiring environmental lawyer activists. The organization must be well funded.  The USD campus is beautiful and the building Warren Hall was nice.  Room 3A was very hot and a diesel generator was just outside the window. The noise made it difficult to hear the discussion.  The tea party did not place the generator nor turn off the air conditioning.

Former San Diego city councilwoman, Donna Fry used humor to keep the crowd engaged. Democrat San Diego City Council president Tony Young participated. Sara Wan, former California Coastal Commissioner and Arthur Coe, a former staff member at Regional Water Quality Control Board rounded out the discussion panel. The audience consisted of various former and current officials and staff members along side the future environmental advocates.

The presentation was even-handed and avoided most extreme left-wing politics. The event was informative but for a target audience of lawyers it seemed simplistic. Much of the discussion centered upon building credibility with officials who you intend to influence.

Aspiring activists were given a list of do's and dont's: ( listed in approximate order of importance)

Do:
  1. Build Credibility.
  2. Be concise.
  3. Propose a solution. "State what you want the officials to do."
  4. Stick to the main topic.
  5. Understand CEQA.
  6. Bring someone with a personal story related to the issue at hand.
  7. Understand the political climate around the decision makers.
  8. Bring supporters who are informed about the issue at hand.
  9. Spread major points between several concise allies.
  10. Get a meeting with the officials you wish to interact with. An introduction meeting is enough to get the ball rolling.
  11. Know your audience. "Do not talk to the Water Quality Control Board about air quality."
  12. Get involved at the beginning of the process because the "ball is rolling downhill" later in the process.
  13. Learn about the officials you are presenting to and know details like what they like for breakfast.
  14. Sue the government to force enforcement of existing law.
Don't:
  1. Insult the officials.
  2. Lie or make unsupported claims. "You will lose all future credibility."
  3. Don't come late to the party. "By the time something is on the official agenda, you are a year behind the political process."
  4. Antagonize your opponents or engage in a debate during your limited presentation time.
  5. Make enemies with your opponent activists and advocates because you may be able to work together on other issues.
  6. Don't bring a bus load of "people wearing buttons who don't know why they are there."
Two groups were singled out as examples of what not to do:

First, the medical marijuana movement had won. It then worked to repeal its own victory in San Diego in order to get a more perfect outcome. The result was a shut down of the marijuana dispensaries by the Department of Justice.

Second, Occupy San Diego evolved from gaining the sympathy of left-leaning Democrats into a disorganized mess. Examples were given of occupiers arguing among themselves. OSD also lost coherent leadership which could be worked with by other advocates and activists. It is assumed that references to "people wearing buttons who don't know why they are there," referred to Occupy San Diego.

At risk of wandering off topic, Doo Doo Economics has been tough on the occupy movement. This is not due to hate, but of concern for American's safety. The occupy movement is now cannon fodder for the progressive movement.

Occupy is simultaneously being used as controlled opposition and demonized as violent. Controlled opposition takes political focus off of the multiparty success of the tea party movement. Demonization establishes, with regard to President Obama, "the perception of a violent occupy movement is a perfect opponent." This perception of violence is used to assault the first and second amendments and further centralize corrupt power. We may disagree on the chicken-and-the-egg arguments between government corruption and corporate corruption, but that does not preclude compassion for fellow Americans.

Absent were mentions of factual arguments. Most of the discussion points came down to "personal relationships" with the decision makers, their staff and other advocates. This is not surprising as the speakers were all left-leaning and more concerned with emotional appeals.

Humanity is best when intellect and emotion come together. In sports we call this convergence, "being in the zone." America has traditionally benefited from having liberals and conservatives approach common problems from different points of view. So, hopefully, some left-wing advocates will develop working relationships with the rest of us. Don't hold your breath, but this civility sentiment was echoed when Donna Fry mentioned:
Don't make everything personal. Not everyone on the other side is evil because they disagree with you.
It is unlikely to happen while the Obama administration drives division through class, sex and race warfare.
