Geithner Predicts Obama 2012 Election Loss

DAVOS, SWITZERLAND: US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner predicted that Obama would be a one-term president. During his televised presentation at the World Economic Forum on Friday, Geithner was questioned by Fareed Zakaria of CNN. The Treasury Secretary tried to be political in his statement, but the question was open ended and well formed.

Fareed Zakaria's question, ".. you made clear that you were not going to serve in a second term of the Obama administration. Is that his choice or yours?" Laughter broke the silence of the crowd of economists and political leaders. Geithner smiled knowing the political difficulty of the situation.

One of the my many talents is decoding the code language on the progressive left and in economic circles. Unfortunately for Timothy Geithner, his every word was decoded. I now relate this back to you. First, the raw response, edited for brevity:

"That is an excellent way to pose that question." Geithner's finger points up and his tongue darts out between his lips. His eyes shift to the side and up. The Secretary tries to find a politically acceptable answer, but truth is about to slip out from his lips.

"..if the president asked you to these things you have to do them...When he asked me to stay, and I thought it was the right time to leave, I agreed that I would stay and I would stay to the balance of his term. He accepted that aspiration of mine, and that is were it is going to come out, I think."

Zakaria quickly followed up, "What are you going to do next?"

Geithner: "...feels like a long way away...[edited]...We got a long year of hard work (ahead of us). It is a political moment in the United States and people are skeptical whether we can do anything. But, Our judgement is that we still have a chance, in some of these areas [referring to Obama's financial regulations, health care take over, etc.], to make some progress. And I am going to focus on that as long as I can." His eyes close, lips purse and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner hopes that American reporters are too busy with Friday night cocktail parties to understand the context of these words.

Translation for those who do not speak politic or body language:

"I had to stay to the balance of his term and that is what will happen. We have a long year of hard work ahead until the election."

How to Promote Freedom on TheSLOBs.org

The San Diego Local Order of Bloggers are San Diego's Finest Tea Party Bloggers. We developed a website (http://www.theslobs.org/) to help the public quickly gather and share original ideas, news and commentary through social networking. This blog, Doo Doo Economics, is a member blog and uses theSlobs.org website to share news and commentary from this website and a diverse collection of Tea Party inspired freedom lovers.

Figure 1: Article ShareThis interaction

Often the associated bloggers work on the same story from different points of view. It is common for a Randian Objectivist, a fiscally conservative Democrat, an Independent and a Republican to write about the same topic. The San Diego Local Order of Bloggers is an excellent source for news reporters and commentators to find interesting topics and perspectives.

Figure 2: Facebook Article Sharer

TheSlobs.org website is integrated with Facebook and Twitter. It automatically Tweets new articles from the Doo Doo Economics twitter account. Facebook.com/TheSLOBs is the location of the automatically updated Facebook page. An Android mobile application is also available.

The automatic publishing features are useful, but user social interaction is the strength of the site. Each individual article features a shareThis link to provide access to a wide range of social networking websites. Each member blog and the most recent associated articles links to a special page with additional social interaction options.

Figure 3: Share to Facebook Groups
The San Diego Local Order of Bloggers website has its own social interaction control area on the far right side.  Controls include RSS Feed, ATOM Feed, Facebook 'likes', Google+, Stumble Upon, Twitter, and a link to the Android mobile app.

How To Share Information from http://www.theslobs.org/

The majority of users today are on Facebook, so that is our starting point. My recommendation is to join "facebook groups" aligned with your interests. You may then share articles to those groups.  Sharing posts from theSLOBs to Facebook groups is just a click away.

Click the ShareThis link as shown in Figure 1. (You may click figure images to enlarge.) Figure 2 displays the Facebook sharer pop up window. You may need to fill in your user name and password here, but this is a Facebook.com webpage.  Change the "Share:" location to "In a group." Fill in the "Type a group name" box, per Figure 3, and hit the "Share Link" button.

Figure 4: "like" confirmation
Alternatively, you can access social interactions by clicking the article or blog name. This is a framed page. You can leave the frame at anytime by clicking "Remove Frame" at the top. This page is useful for measuring how much social interaction your favorite articles have accumulated. Due to the nature of theSLOBs website, the articles are hot-off-the-press and you are likely to be the first of your friends to find interesting topics.

Figure 5: Tweet from Framed view page.

Here you can "like" (Figure 4) or Google+ the article or blog and it will show up on your "Wall." You may also Tweet about the article. Figure 5 shows a typical tweet of an post by Liberator Today. Notice the importance of hash tags (#) and @ symbols in reaching a large audience. Hash tags are automatically entered from the article's content, but you can edit the tweet to your heart's content.

Figure 6: Link to San Diego Local Order of Bloggers Facebook page
Finally, The San Diego Local Order of Bloggers website is always improving. Some recent improvements include linking to additional blogging lists, improved advertisement placement and a Facebook page link as seen in Figure 6. The goal of the website is to promote freedom and the men and women who work to preserve it. We all want to know "what can I do" to contribute in the effort to save America. Hopefully this tool will help you contribute by spreading the call for freedom.

Timothy Geithner Resigned

ABC News Blog is reporting that Timothy Geithner is resigned to the fact that he will not return after the election. The ABC report is based upon a Bloomberg Television interview. ABC News Blog reports:
Obama Economic Strategy: Crash It
Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner – the sole remaining member of President Obama’s original economic team – said today he expected to leave the administration if Obama wins a second term.
“He’s not going to ask me to stay on, I’m pretty confident,” Geithner, 50, said in an interview with Bloomberg TV in Charlotte, N.C.
“I’m confident he’ll be president. But I’m also confident he’s going to have the privilege of having another secretary of the Treasury.”
Geithner had been thinking about leaving his Treasury post ever since the bruising debt ceiling debate last summer, sources told ABC News, but ultimately chose to remain by Obama’s side through the end of the year.
Geithner’s departure would mark the final step in the changing of the administration’s economic guard, following the exits of National Economic Council Director Larry Summers, Council of Economic Advisers Chairwomsn Christina Romer and Office of Management and Budget Director Peter Orsazg.
When asked what he might do next, Geithner simply told Bloomberg “something else.”
The secretary will attend the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, this weekend, where the focus will be on keeping the euro zone afloat and staving off a global recession.

Obama Lies About Creating 3 Million Jobs

Lies, Damn Lies, and Statistics

Obama claimed to have created 3 million jobs in 22 months. Well, the economy has recovered relative to the depths of the recession. If you review Bureau of Labor Statistics data and begin counting from January 2010 and not January 2009, when Chairman Obama took office, you can come to a net positive job gain.

However, the Obama economy has been a net job loser. From January 2009 through December 2011, the economy is millions of jobs in the hole. If you look at the entire recession, the picture gets even worse. Further, on February 3, 2012 revisions to the number will be released and Marney Cox, Chief Economist at SANDAG believes the numbers may be revised down.
Many economists believe a double dip recession is very possible.  Europe and America are so heavily in debt that confidence in government is waining. U.S. Treasury bills, for the first time in history, are losing investors to the tune of $85 billion dollars over the last six weeks.

The hard fact is that the U.S. economy has lost 2.5 million jobs since Obama became President. Since the beginning of 2008, the economy has lost 6.1 million jobs. From January 2010, the economy has recovered only 2.6 million jobs.

(click for pdf)

President Obama ended the State of the Union Address (SOTA) with an appeal to "get each other's backs." His call was for us to trust each other. This statistical deception alienates thinking Americans from the man who claims to have "created 3 million jobs over the last 22 months."

Ron Paul, U.S. Secretary of the Treasury

It is apparent that the other Republican presidential candidates would consider Rep. Ron Paul for Treasury Secretary.  In this position, Ron Paul would hold influence over the Federal Reserve System and economic policy. To Ron Paul Revolutionaries, would that earn your vote?

Conservative Tea Party Republican Against Guns

It is the middle of the day as you drive to the ATM for some cash. The drive back is typical and you find your favorite parking spot waiting for you. For a moment, you delay turning off your car as you listen to your favorite radio station. After exiting and locking the car your heart skips as the words, "give me your wallet and keys" ring out. You turn to see two armed professional thugs.

This is where the story hits a fork in the road.  Some of us hand over our keys and wallet, walk inside, call the police, and hope insurance and our work life accommodates the loss of our hard earned identity and property.  Some of us are not accepting of the role victim.

A wise man once said that discretion is the greater part of valor. Another wise man said that punching a bully in the nose is the best solution. A group of very wise men wrote, "The right to bare arms shall not be infringed." So who is correct?

Civilization is based upon safety and security. You cannot have freedom in an insecure environment, but police do not carry guns to prevent crime or eliminate criminals. Police carry guns to defend themselves when dealing with dangerous situations and people.

Conservatives often point to the intimidating effect of the police state but take comfort that others are intimidated from committing crime. However, when it comes down to individual acts of crime and violence the state is not there to prevent the citizen from harm. The government enforces laws through the threat of force generally based upon incarceration as punishment after the fact.

An omnipresent state with the capability to prevent each act of crime is a cure more deadly than the disease.  Naturally, the right to self preservation is fundamental to a free person. Any society that does not guarantee the individual right to self preservation is one that views citizens as a renewable, expendable slave resource. The only reasonable solution in a free society is self-reliant citizens who are capable of protecting themselves.

In many American locations, including New York and California, citizens' right to self preservation is effectively removed. Aside from police agents, citizens cannot legally carry hand guns whether concealed or in the open. Inexpensive, concealable weapons are disparagingly called "Saturday night specials" and are further restricted. While police agents are in danger more frequently than the general public, we all live in the same dangerous world.

"Governments are instituted...deriving their just Powers from the consent of the governed." The state cannot gain powers that the people do not have to give, in theory. Our founding declaration specifies that Americans are "endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." That government denies the basic right to life via self-defense and preservation to its citizen masters but grant such privilege to its own agents is antithetical to the American idea.

Therefore, to return to our story; when faced with mortal danger, it is our individual conscience, not the decision of government bureaucrats upon which we should and must rely. To be denied the ability to confront criminal force with righteous force in preservation of one's life and property is unjust. If we, as lawful citizens, are denied arms then the state must also be denied arms as they derive their rights from ours.

Post Script

Such elementary notions being violated in American society leads me to a shocking conclusion. From Saudi money backing American and Canadian environmentalists to foreign internet contributions funding the 2008 Obama campaign to the fact that the largest group of converts to Islam in the Western world are US blacks to American public education through the Tides Foundation; the American idea is under direct assault from within. The blindness of our naive liberal media and infiltration of foreign interests are destroying the American idea and consequently destroying the future of human freedom.  Gun rights are key to a free people. That any American opposes the right to self preservation is proof that the liberal idea ultimately results in people selling their souls due to the lack of a moral compass and selfish disregard for everyone around them including their own progeny.

AP Downplays Obama Ineligiblity to Appear on State Ballots

Several lawsuits have challenged Obama's Eligibility. Some of these challenges are based upon the information we posted on May 14, 2011 entitled How You Can Remove Barack Obama from the 2012 Election. We pointed out that challenges to Obama's eligibility have not been heard "on the merits" and all have been dismissed on technicalities. Such oppression of the constitution relies upon corruption and intimidation of the legal system, which will not occur everywhere.  Barack Obama can be removed from state ballots as we explained:
Sparing you all the legal mumbo-jumbo, Obama could be kept off the STATE ballots due to eligibility requirements. Constitutional eligibility requirements to run for President are easy to find, and due to preemption states must abide by these requirement. Despite what you may read on wikipedia, Four supreme court cases and Senate Resolution 511 confirm that a person must be born of American citizen parents to be considered a "Natural Born Citizen." The founders and the Supreme Court of the United States are clear that the origin of this clause is "The Law of Nations" written by Emmerich de Vattel.
In recent news, The Associated Press is downplaying, but reporting, one of the state challenges against Obama:
A judge has ordered President Barack Obama to appear in court in Atlanta for a hearing on a complaint that says Obama isn't a natural-born citizen and can't be president.

It's one of many such lawsuits that have been filed across the country, so far without success. A Georgia resident made the complaint, which is intended to keep Obama's name off the state's ballot in the March presidential primary.

An Obama campaign aide says any attempt to involve the president personally will fail and such complaints around the country have no merit.

The hearing is set for Thursday before an administrative judge. Deputy Chief Judge Michael Malihi on Friday denied a motion by the president's lawyer to quash a subpoena that requires Obama to show up.

This argument is supported by a U.S. Supreme Court decision from 1875, Minor v. Happersett. The ruling, which addresses the definition of “natural born citizen” as opposed to a naturalized citizen, states:
“The Constitution does not in words say who shall be natural-born citizens. Resort must be had elsewhere to ascertain that. At common law, with the nomenclature of which the framers of the Constitution were familiar, it was never doubted that all children born in a country of parents who were its citizens became themselves, upon their birth, citizens also. These were natives or natural-born citizens, as distinguished from aliens or foreigners.”
Deputy Chief Judge, Michael Malihi (link is currently hacked: http://www.osah.ga.gov judges directory), in the Office of State Administrative Hearings, ruled:
“Statutory provisions must be read as they are written, and this court finds that the cases cited by [Obama] are not controlling. When the court construes a constitutional or statutory provision, the ‘first step … is to examine the plain statutory language,”Malihi wrote. “Section 21-2-1(a) states that ‘every candidate for federal and state office’ must meet the qualifications for holding that particular office, and this court has seen no case law limiting this provision, nor found any language that contains an exception for the office of president or stating that the provision does not apply to the presidential preference primary.” The judge went on to say in his ruling, “The court finds that defendant is a candidate for federal office who has been certified by the state executive committee of a political party, and therefore must, under Code Section 21-2-5, meet the constitutional and statutory qualifications for holding the office being sought.”
Following the denial of the president’s motion, a hearing was scheduled for Jan. 26 on the issue.

28th Annual County of San Diego Economic Roundtable

Is the federal government to blame for the current employment slump? Today several economists and San Diego business leaders discussed the region's economic climate. To summarize the event, the government interrupted the economy's creative destruction process and negatively impacted new industry and job creation.

Key in the discussion was the employment market. San Diego has been leading the state in job growth behind the Bay Area and Bakersfield but it is a tenuous honor in the current economic climate. Ryan Ratcliff of the University of San Diego investigated why the economy is "stuck in the mud." With regard to my contention that the federal government's intervention has exacerbated the unemployment problem, Dr. Ratcliff felt such a simplification to be "glib." He does believe that "public sector drag" is an issue. The PhD believes that, in the best case, it will take 2 years to recover the 102,000 regional lost jobs.

Marney Cox, Chief Economist for SANDAG, believes that "2012 not looking that good" with regard to the employment issue. The region faces "slower growth." The long term unemployed (43%), who have withdrawn from the unemployment rolls, will stall improvements in the unemployment rate. Regional job growth will be narrowly based due to increasing sales taxes and uncertainty due to bad information about the future. San Diego can expect 6,000 to 12,000 new jobs in 2012. The region is facing "headwinds of jobs, consumption, income and Europe."

Another key discussion point was the San Diego housing market which will likely see falling prices for 2012 and 2013. Ernest Dronenburg, San Diego's Assessor/Recorder, proved to be the comedy relief. When he delved into the housing market "black hole" his tone changed. Phantom inventory are depressing the housing market due to liquidations. Foreclosures will peek in 2012 and liquidations are expected to peek in 2013. Home ownership will drop to about 45% due to the CRA policies that led to this economic disaster. Housing prices are expected to fall between 2% and 5% during 2012.

Mark Cafferty filled in for Linden Blue of General Atomics. Linden Blue planned on presenting on the Geo-political situation. Due to the focus of the economic roundtable, if I understand correctly, he was replaced at the last minute. Personally, I would have welcomed the Geo-political review.

The most terrifying presentation was by Steven Escoboza, President and CEO of the Hospital Association of San Diego and Imperial Counties. Mr. Escoboza was promoting the health care reform known as ObamaCare. He presented that "community care integrators" will get to choose who gets hospital care and when. The "care coordinators" will choose the "right care at the right time."

"Administrative support (employment) will be a big part of managed care." He stressed that lowering costs and "bending the cost curve" were the focus to help make health care "economically efficient." Enrollment in managed care programs through exchanges will see a "flood of new people coming in."

If you read through all the code language, the message is simple. To save money, administrators will choose quality of life for everyone. Primary care physicians will be scarce. Philip Drew will hold the power of life and death over us all. The only redeeming aspect to this part of the presentation was his repeated disdainful comments, "if the supreme court does not strike it down."

Dr. Lynn Reaser led off the roundtable. Dr. Reaser touched on the fact that unemployment declines will be stalled due to the employment participation rate. She felt good about the recent tree trade agreements with Panama and elsewhere.  Her worst policies of this recession were the quick fixes like Cash for Clunkers. The Chief Economist at Point Loma Nazarene University believes that 2012 may not follow the typical "economically good election year."

All the economists and speakers shared one common sentiment. The 2012 election year will decide if small or big government will rule our futures. My take on the situation is that a smaller government role is warranted. Keynesian economics has run its course. Small tweaks to capitalism work but socialist cronyism is not a small tweak. Making poverty and dependence comfortable and allowing the state to pick winners and losers is not wise in any civilization. Only the passion of self interested individuals who believe in their own ideas and benefit from taking risks can create a vibrant economy. No amount of marketing "green" or other state solutions will impassion true believers, investors and customers like an individual with an innovative idea.

STOP SOPA PIPA

The Stop Online Piracy Act and the Protect Intellectual Property Acts are two ways that Washington is looking to censor the new media of the Internet. SOPA is the bill in the House of Representatives and PIPA is the U.S. Senate bill. SOPA would require companies that provides access to foreign websites in violation to block access to their subscribers.
A service provider shall take technically feasible and reasonable measures designed to prevent access by its subscribers located within the United States to the foreign infringing site (or portion thereof) that is subject to the order...Such actions shall be taken as expeditiously as possible, but in any case within five days after being served with a copy of the order, or within such time as the court may order.
Here's how Section 101 of the original version of SOPA defines what a U.S.-directed Web site is:

(A) the Internet site is used to provide goods or services to users located in the United States;
(B) there is evidence that the Internet site or portion thereof is intended to offer or provide such goods and services (or) access to such goods and services (or) delivery of such goods and services to users located in the United States;
(C) the Internet site or portion thereof does not contain reasonable measures to prevent such goods and services from being obtained in or delivered to the United States; and
(D) any prices for goods and services are indicated or billed in the currency of the United States.
PIPA raises even greater concerns. CNET reports the following:
An analysis (PDF) of Protect IP prepared by five Internet researchers this spring lists potential security problems. Among them: it's "incompatible" with DNSSEC, innocent Web sites will be swept in as "collateral damage," and the blacklist can be bypassed by using the numeric Internet address of a Web site. The address for CNET.com, for instance, is currently 64.30.224.118.
Website hosts offer many websites often on a single IP (internet protocol) address using "Host Headers". Blocking an IP address will bring down many websites that have nothing to do with the targeted website. We have no idea how either PIPA or SOPA would decide who to censor.

There are two responses to this government violation of our rights. First, on January 18, 2012 many websites will blackout to raise awareness of this travesty. Second, alternative legislation is being offered.

Rep. Darrell Issa, a California Republican, has introduced the so-called OPEN Act that would cut off the flow of funds to alleged pirate Web sites without requiring them to be blocked. Sen. Ron Wyden, a Oregon Democrat, introduced the bill to the Senate. Once again Rep. Issa has championed for the people he represents.

40 Is The New 30

There are a lot of important issues in this election year. One of the most important is age. Social Security and other benefits have a required minimum or maximum age. So after many hours of study, I reveal the Official American "X is the new ?" table.

Consulting this table will now enable us to understand everything from Obama raising the maximum dependent age for health insurance to raising the social security retirement age. I cannot overstate the seriousness of this calculation and as new information is revealed we may need to make corrections. Accuracy is key.

Lets look at examples.

Say you are turning 40 years of age; you can now confidently say that 40 is the new 30. If anyone is foolish enough to argue, the proof is right here.

Did your know-it-all little brother or sister recently turn 21? You can now confidently tell them that they are acting like an eighteen year old.

Did someone you know just turn 100? They will be happy to know that 100 is the new 75!

This information also describes how immature young Americans have become of late. A few years ago, 30 was considered a responsibly adult. Now, the age of 30 is equivalent to someone who has begun to escape the bar scene.

Thousands of experts and scientists were consulted to compile this data. It is the consensus and do not believe  anyone who "denies." The science is settled and the debate is over.

Please direct your data inquiries to check this research to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Media requests and comments may be left below for a quick reply.

America Progressing Toward Slavery

Remember those stories of Chinese slave labor, and third world country sweatshops? How is it that America rose up and ended slavery and sweatshops? According to Mitt Romney in the New Hampshire debate, "(American) GDP Per capita is 50% higher than Europe". America became the breadbasket for the world. "United States produced between 60 and 70 percent of the world's oil supply". America's armed forces became the world's superpower. American ingenuity was released causing us to essentially invent everything over the last 170 years. What explains it all: Free Markets (or Karl Marx's pejorative: Capitalism).

What has changed?

The Progress in Progressive is Toward Slavery

Progressivism is rolling back the individual freedom and innovation that this country at one time personified. We are progressing toward a slave society; a society where the rich use poor and middle class people as natural resources. We are progressing to a society where individuals will no longer hope to start their own business due to regulations, legal and insurance paperwork, taxes, a corrupt bureaucracy and cronyism.
Doo Doo Economics Blog 9/30/2011President Obama signed the America Invents Act into law. A full discussion of this action can be found on The Blaze, but allow me to summarize. America now has Europe's patent system. You know the system that does not work. The system that makes innovation by small business, responsible for 100 percent of U.S. job growth over the last 35 years, impossible. The European system where "less than 1 percent of patents are filed by job-creating small businesses and independent inventors compared to 28 percent in the U.S." as Business Insider guest writer Henry Nothhaft writes.
I blame Progressives because their social programs enable slavery to once again compete with free markets. Consider Obamacare: instead of an employer competing for workers by offering benefits like health care, the meager $2,000 annual "penalty" or "exchange buy-in" encourages employers to drop health care insurance instead of paying on average $17,000 per year. Many health insurance companies and doctors are leaving medicine before the law is enacted. This is a precursor to an eventual government-run, "single-payer" medical system.

In this way, Obamacare offloads the cost of production to the public sector. Everyone is sold that they can live at the expense of everyone else. In truth, their children and those more financially well off but without waivers are pushed into perpetual debt. Government debt, taxation and regulation leave the masses desperate and without hope for a better life. The American dream is to have your own house, your own business and "get ahead" financially.

Government dependence destroys this dream. Section 8 housing, the lack of classical education and demonizing those who succeed ensure the dream is unattainable. In slave vernacular, those who succeed are "house" not "field" workers.

Capitalists (free traders) must pay for all the costs associated with a product or service. Like a communist Chinese slave state, American progressive policies use public funding to balance a lack of innovation, productivity and risk with the services of desperate "illegal", dependent and miseducated workers.

The same can be said for retirement and pension plans vs. social security.  Home interest deductions, solar panel subsidies and other tax credits may similarly be viewed as reducing the pay required to retain labor. Any entitlement programs relating to essentials that would otherwise require income also offload the cost of production to the public. All of these costs would be borne by the entrepreneur in a free market, thus the competitive drive for innovation and value.

It was innovation that allowed America to end slavery and embrace self-reliance. Free markets made America great. The destruction of innovation and self-reliance is the indicator that we are "progressing" back to slavery. When slave labor becomes more cost effective than skilled workers, you are dealing with progressive tyranny.

Let me reiterate that all of this "everyone living at the expense of everyone ELSE" is a fallacy.  Either we must pay for these benefits through taxes, or our descendants will be saddled with the additional debt. Eventually, this scheme collapses, ironically, because it is not "sustainable." The only "sustainable" path is self-reliant, free-market, capitalistic FREEDOM!

Epilogue - Post Script

The American worker is a productive marvel. There is no doubt that as government slaves we would be highly sought after. The problem is that Americans require self-reliance and independence. We require the ability to keep what we have earned. America requires the hope for a better life. Without these things Americans will be no more productive than anyone else.

Further, miseducation at Harvard and other "elite" institutions is just as worthless as and more dangerous than politically correct miseducation at your local community college. Having the ability to quickly learn, retain and comprehend that 1+1 =3 is no more valuable than badly learning it. However, the Harvard elitist class, that has led America so far astray, is far more dangerous because they have been taught to unquestioningly believe that they are actually better than everyone else. They will not be swayed by logic and reason because some expensive professor knows best. To admit that they are wrong would invalidate that expensive degree and illuminate the missing "think for yourself" wisdom that most of America learns at an early age.

Finally, I find it amazing that America currently tolerates the "illegal alien" invasion. These poor souls may be better off in America, but the truth is that unscrupulous people use them as cheap, slave-like labor. America fought the Mexican-American War from 1846 to 1848, prior to the civil war:
The war had been widely supported by Democrats and opposed by Whigs. Many Northern abolitionists (Republicans) attacked the war as an attempt by slave-owners to expand slavery and assure their continued influence in the federal government. Henry David Thoreau wrote his essay Civil Disobedience and refused to pay taxes to support the war. Former President John Quincy Adams also expressed his belief that the war was an effort to expand slavery.
With American successes on the battlefield, by the summer of 1847 there were calls for the annexation of "All Mexico," particularly among Eastern Democrats, who argued that bringing Mexico into the Union was the best way to ensure future peace in the region.
(Italics ours)
Democrats have a long history that is continued today. At the end of the war, congress debated annexing all of Mexico, but there was no doubt that Democrats would make slaves of the Mexican people. I am a steadfast Tea Party patriot, but my Republican roots are deeply abolitionist. It is difficult to believe that this battle is ongoing and again threatens America. It is astonishing that minorities vote for the pro-slavery, anti-civil rights Democrat party.
The Democratic Senate Majority Leader, Lyndon Baines Johnson from Texas, realized that the bill and its journey through Congress could tear apart his party, whose southern block was anti-civil rights and northern members were more pro-civil rights. Southern senators occupied chairs of numerous important committees due to their long seniority. Johnson sent the bill to the judiciary committee, led by Senator James Eastland from Mississippi, who proceeded to change and alter the bill almost beyond recognition. Senator Richard Russell from Georgia had claimed the bill was an example of the Federal government wanting to impose its laws on states. Johnson sought recognition from civil rights advocates for passing the bill, while also receiving recognition from the mostly southern anti-civil rights Democrats for reducing it so much as to kill it.

Voter Registration Fraud Reported in Stockton California

From News10 Sacramento:
Karen Griggs said she was waiting for the bus on Hammer Lane with about 20 people when two young, African American men approached asking people to sign a petition to extend the prison time for convicted sex offenders. When the two men reached Griggs at her seat they asked her to sign her name and initial a second spot so they could get paid.

"I remembered that I've never signed a petition where you had to initial for them to get paid and then it dawned on me that I never signed a petition where it was just one signature per page," said Griggs, who is legally blind.

Griggs grabbed the form off of the mens' clipboard and later found out that it wasn't a petition she was signing, but a California voter registration form. Griggs said the two men walked away with at least 20 people's signatures. On the form, a party affiliation was already filled out and the initialled spot said the voter wanted to a receive mail-in ballot.

Griggs contacted San Joaquin County's Registrar of Voters Department and was told the code number at the bottom of the form she took isn't even from San Joaquin County.

"You're going to go to the voting booth to sign, but they're going to tell you you're not registered there," warned Griggs.
If you believe that you have witnessed voter fraud you can use this form to report the incident to the Registrar of Voters. Be particularly careful as a new gay marriage ballot initiative has recently launched. We know that progressive groups commonly work together to overcome the majority of America's values. The gay marriage ballot signature collectors were in Hillcrest today.

Tebowlievers Explained in a Paragraph

12/17/2011 2:10 AM:
I am not a Denver Broncos Fan, but the Tim Tebow phenomenon has baffled too many of my intelligent friends. The fundamental behind this phenomenon is close to my heart, so allow to me explain it. The last four digits of my phone number are 1778, and for good reason, as it is the winter of George Washington in Valley Forge (Dec 19,1777- June 19,1778) and the year of our alliance with France. Hope seemed lost, but we prevailed.

UPDATE 1/8/2012 9:45 PM:
Tonight the Denver Broncos won a thrilling wildcard playoff game in overtime against The Pittsburgh Steelers.  The game winning play:

Even more impressive is the youtube user named littl3m0nkey who picked up on the following statistic from the game: PASSING_Pittsburgh, Roethlisberger 22-40-1-289. Denver, Tebow 10-21-0-316. Mr. littl3m0nkey commented:
Tebow 3:16 says "I just threw for 316 yards"
Referring to John 3:16
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."
Classic!

Where Are They Now? Hopey-Changey Edition

Franklin Raines was a Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Fannie Mae. Raines was forced to retire from his position with Fannie Mae when auditing discovered severe irregularities in Fannie Mae's accounting activities. Raines left with a "golden parachute valued at $240 Million in benefits. The Government filed suit against Raines when the depth of the accounting scandal became clear.

Tim Howard - was the Chief Financial Officer of Fannie Mae. Howard "was a strong internal proponent of using accounting strategies that would ensure a "stable pattern of earnings" at Fannie. Investigations by federal regulators and the company's board of directors since concluded that management did manipulate 1998 earnings to trigger bonuses. Raines and Howard resigned under pressure in late 2004. Howard's Golden Parachute was estimated at $20 Million!

Jim Johnson - A former executive at Lehman Brothers and who was later forced from his position as Fannie Mae CEO. Investigators found that Fannie Mae had hidden a substantial amount of Johnson's 1998 compensation from the public, reporting that it was between $6 million and $7 million when it fact it was $21 million." Johnson is currently under investigation for taking illegal loans from Countrywide while serving as CEO of Fannie Mae. Johnson's Golden Parachute was estimated at $28 Million.

So where are they?

FRANKLIN RAINES? Raines works for the Obama Campaign as his Chief Economic Advisor.

TIM HOWARD? Howard is a Chief Economic Advisor to Obama under Franklin Raines.

JIM JOHNSON? Johnson was hired as a Senior Obama Finance Advisor and was selected to run Obama's Vice Presidential Search Committee.

So much for "hope and change."

Our goal is $2000 and we are getting close.  These are good people who are experiencing troubled times with this battle against cancer. If you can spare a little charity and goodwill this is the donation page.

Cash for Clunkers Continues with CARB's VAVR Program

Bloomberg/Businessweek is reporting a surge in new car sales:
Light-vehicle sales in December, set for release tomorrow, may have run at a 13.4 million seasonally adjusted annual rate, the average estimate of 14 analysts surveyed by Bloomberg, up from the 12.5 million pace a year earlier. While the rate may trail the 13.6 million seasonally adjusted pace in November, typically a slow sales month, the number of units sold increased in December, according to the average of five estimates.
They have failed to report the fact that many low income consumers are now without transportation. Cash for Clunkers is still alive and well in California as Voluntary Accelerated Vehicle Retirement (VAVR). The misconceived program makes vehicles unattainable for young and low income people. VAVR also pushes middle income people into debt for new cars with the cost of adherence to environmental regulations combined with large cash incentives.
The State’s recently enhanced Consumer Assistance Program (CAP) was developed by the ARB in consultation with BAR and provides $1,000 per vehicle and $1,500 for low-income consumers for unwanted vehicles that have either FAILED or PASSED their last Smog Check Test. (CA.gov Car Scrappage webpage)
Maybe I need a second pair of eyes on that sentence; does it read $2500 for a clunker? (UPDATE) Thank you for helping resolve this conundrum, it is $1000 or $1500 per this application.

The VAVR program uses tax money to remove fully functional and smog compliant vehicles from the road. The California market is gentile on used cars due to the favorable weather. Southern California has the best climate in the country and many of the region's cars and light trucks gain a greater operational life than vehicles from colder, saltier and more humid climates. Regardless, our environmental overlords have decided that the back of a bus is better suited to low income citizens.
...monetary or other incentives to vehicle owners to voluntarily retire their older, more polluting vehicle. (CA.gov VAVR webpage)
This is a program that trickles down to every used car consumer in America because the "retired" vehicles are dismantled.  (A list of "auto dismantlers" can be found on this FAQ sheet.)  Here is a quick list of the immediately foreseeable negative consequences of this policy:
  • Hinders employment for those who cannot find cheap reliable transportation.
  • Spawns a new breed of exploitative scams against the old and low income.
  • Wastes scarce tax money.
  • Calls for higher taxes to pay for "firemen, police and teachers" when the real problem is wasted money.
  • Falsifies economic indicators as the choices to purchase used cars are reduced.
  • More union money stolen from consumers and "redistributed" into politician's back pockets.
  • Class warfare exacerbated as poor and old are left even more dependent.
  • More pollution as smog compliant vehicles are "dismantled" leaving low income people with bad alternatives.
  • Increased pollution as a few more coal powered, toxic-battery powered electric vehicles are pushed into service.
  • Increased human misery as more people are forced into illegal, immoral and undignified behavior.
  • Price gouging for new and slightly used cars due to lack of alternatives
  • That's enough for now...but more in-depth analysis is available from Beers with Demo.
This is more fascism attributed to the blind environmentalist cult known commonly as progressives. Maybe we should redefine this as Mayan Economics, in honor of 2012.
